I’m a little bit appalled that Sydney is unsigned. She doesn’t even have the size penalty a lot of players deal with, as a setter, 5’9 is good height for either 5-1 or 6-2. She’s a good setter, and she has done whatever her team has needed from her for years. DS/Libero, Setter, and even MB this year when her team needed it, and won a state title. She can and will do everything for you. I don’t know if it’s a case of clubs and schools not doing enough to educate and help in the college process, or schools just completely dropping the ball, but this is one of those players who makes it clear something is broken. Sydney is a great setter. She’s been running a 6-2 at Broadneck for a few years now, and is always playing good solid defense, while keeping the offense running like a machine. She’s a senior this year, and while I’m not sure what her college plans are or if she wants to play at the next level, she’s a player schools should be fighting each other to sign this late. She will be a difference maker for some program if they could scoop her up this late in the game.
