HJV 16 Elite had a perfect day on Saturday, going home undefeated with three wins, and McKay’s positive impact coming off the bench shouldn’t go unnoticed. She played the defensive specialist role to perfection, coming in for one of the team’s outside hitters on the backcourt and providing great stability and volume. McKay used her long frame to get to balls at the middle back position and her excellent ball control to keep them in play, generating counterattacks for her team. She was extremely productive with her passing too, often covering half of the court, and often caused a positive impact from the service line, getting opponents out of system.

McKay will be a very intriguing one to watch after her stellar high school season with Bellville. She was a stud during the last club season as a defensive specialist, but took on hitting duties with Belville and did absolutely great. It’s still unsure in which position she’ll line up for Houston Juniors’ HJV 16 Elite, but whatever her coach’s choice is, be sure McKay will deliver a tremendously reliable backcourt game and impressive production from the service line.

A defensive specialist during the last club season, McKay has been used as an outside hitter with Belville and has been able to help the team in a strong way. Her offensive game is certainly strong enough for her to get very good production at the net and her backcourt skills are possibly the best in the entire squad. McKay is also a formidable server.
