About Tala

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a high-energy libero who plays with intensity and consistency. I’m not afraid to sacrifice my body to keep plays alive, and I take pride in being reliable in the back row. My focus is on hustle, defense, and creating opportunities for my team to succeed.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am competitive, resilient, and team-driven. No matter the score, I play as hard as I can until the very end. I bring positivity, loyalty, and energy to every team I’m a part of, and I push myself and my teammates to get better every day.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

As a freshman, I played both JV and varsity, and at the end of the JV season I was named Team MVP. For my club program, I played on the 16s National team where I was voted Team Captain and also received the Team MVP Award at the end of the season, despite being two years younger than most of my teammates. I have consistently played up with older age groups, which has challenged me to grow.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volleyball has helped me develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Being named captain and MVP has taught me how to lead by example, encourage teammates, and take responsibility for both my play and my team’s energy.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I lost my uncle Brandon last year, which was very difficult for me. Volleyball became an outlet to help me process my grief, and it motivated me to push harder both mentally and physically. That experience made me stronger, more resilient, and even more dedicated to the sport.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college where I can compete at a high level, continue growing as an athlete, and be part of a supportive team culture. Academically, I want a school that challenges me in the classroom while giving me the opportunity to pursue my goals on the court.
