About Taryn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play hard and I always strive to win. I understand that the goal of playing a game is to win, but if you lose, you have to learn to accept that loss and learn from your mistakes. I always play with that mindset.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very coachable and I always push myself to do my best as well. I want to be the best player I can possibly be, and I want coaches that are going to push me to do that. I'm hard on myself to play better, but I also want coaches to be hard on me so I know how to fix mistakes. I can handle losing and get excited after winning. I can cheer for my teammates and do whatever I'm told to do.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Along with playing club volleyball with the Liberty Belles, I also play AAU basketball for the Lady Jr Legends. I help out with VBS at First Baptist Church where I am also a member. I have always been an honor roll student, and I also won an Art Award last year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I feel like throughout my years playing volleyball I have definitely learned a lot about teamwork and development. I know that spending time getting to know my teammates will only make us play better together and develop our team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The hardest thing I've been through was this year when we didn't have basketball team. Even though basketball is my second sport, I have played it since I was 7. I've always used it to make sure I stay in shape for volleyball. I've come to love it as a sport and this year we didn't have enough for a team. But I ended up playing AAU, because I had to find a way to play.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a Christian College at any level.
