Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
My gameplay style is calm and focused. I have been described as having a high volleyball IQ, scrappy, and determined to not let balls drop. I am a positive teammate and I am open to feedback from my coaches and teammates. As a setter, I listen carefully to my hitters to try my best to give them a set that results in a positive outcome.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
Although I am very competitive, I like to have fun on the court. Making a mistake doesn’t destroy me mentally. I have the ability to shake it off and focus on the next point. As a team captain, I encourage my teammates to “Be a goldfish” and keep mentally strong.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I was awarded Scholar Athlete my freshman and sophomore year. Throughout my entire schooling, I have been on honor roll and high honor roll. I am highly involved in my church, Christ Lutheran in La Mesa. I went to school there from kindergarten until eighth grade and I have been involved in the music program since fifth grade. I am currently in the youth band at church.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I regularly volunteer my time at church events and missionary work. In July of 2023, I went to Alabama on a mission trip with a group from my church . We worked in a low income community doing yard work and connected with elementary aged children. I recently had the opportunity to attend a week-long leadership academy at Concordia Irvine.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I have been blessed to not have any significant challenges. However, school has not been easy for me. Although I earn outstanding grades, I have to work really hard to achieve them. I have difficulty with focus and attention and take longer than typical students to complete my assignments. I continue to challenge myself and work to maintain my GPA.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that supports my Christian values, has a respected nursing degree, and a volleyball program with a staff that will continue to develop me as a player. I am excited about an opportunity to be a part of a team where I can contribute my skills as a setter. I am looking to play at a DII, DIII, or NAIA level.
