About Taylor

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as strategic and disciplined. As a defensive player, i prioritize my positioning on the court and reading my hitters/servers. My agility and quick reflexes help me get to a lot of places in order to make saves.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My biggest reminder to myself is just go! I want to train a mentality of just going and touching every ball no matter what. I also am rooted a lot in faith, and play for an audience of one - above me. I play not for myself, but for God and to uplift and help my team. As a captain of my team, I also believe integrity is a huge part in volleyball - and doing what is right even when nobody’s watching

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am on student leadership at Red Rocks Church, a part of FCA at cherry creek highshool, a leader in Unified buddies at cherry creek high school (a program assisting kids with intellectual/physical needs), and an honors student.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Being involved in leadership with my church and other organizations has helped me gain leadership as well as many other characteristics that I can bring into volleyball. I am captain which requires leadership, honesty, integrity, positivity, energy, and effort - and I am committed to providing ever single one of those. I believe defense is all about teamwork and working for others!

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I was a competitive gymnast for a very long time, and dreamed of a huge future in it - though eventually I got really bad elbow problems leading to 2 surgeries and an agreement that I couldn’t do gymnastics anymore. That was devastating, but as I entered middle school I found a love for volleyball and everything clicked. Now I hope to play at the next level and take my game as far as I can go!

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that has a strong and supportive volleyball program, where I can build connections and continue to develop my game while playing at that very competitive level. I also want a school that has a strong academic field, as I would love to take on a career in Sports-med, and would need something that offers me that.
