About Taylor

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Defense is an important part of my game. Nothing gets me more excited than a block or chasing down a dig. When I am not scoring, I will do anything to set my teammates up for big plays of their own!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Volleyball is my passion. You can see my love for the game in every point. I am super competitive and will hustle after every ball in an effort to help my team win. I try to pump my teammates up and also bring calm to the huddle to keep us focused and positive. I am the biggest cheerleader for my teammates, and I like to have fun!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

FCA (Fellowship of the Christian Athlete), Honor Roll, Spanish Club, and Key Club

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

People look to me to stay calm in the moment, and I have learned to not only be a scoring leader but an emotional leader for my team. I am resilient in that if I make a mistake, I am focused on the next play and how I can help my team.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a strong academic school that will not only set me up athletically but professionally for my future.

Harning jumps into the rankings following a solid club season with Elite VBTC. She has good length at 6’0 and displayed good range of offense as she can score from either pin and through options in between. She also can contribute with her ball control and defense with her long platform. With just over 200 career kills to her credit for Buckeye Valley, Harning is poised to increase her production this coming fall to add more balance in the Barons’ offense behind their elite arm on the left side.
