The most recent evaluation of Wilson from February’s Triple Crown event included some great notes about her impact in both serve receive and defense. A key part of her action is her body position and her ability to keep her hips low so she can adjust the position and level of her angles to get the ball high and with space off the net for her setter. The quickness and balance in her movements is also a big part of this success.

Wilson is a DS on Legacy’s top 16U squad. She provides good effort and stability to their defensive rotation as she made plays from both side of the court in left and right back. She complements their passing game and defense well with how she reads and responds to the ball coming across the net. Competing in Power Pool A, Wilson and her team went 1-2 on the day with two matches going the distance in the best 2 of 3 format, which saw them lose a tough one 15-13 to close out the day.

Wilson has all the mechanics to become an elite DS/L prospect as she continues to move into the recruiting cycle and towards her commitment. She competes for the elite club of Legacy in Michigan and as part of their top 15U team, they earned a top-10 finish in the 15 Open division recently in Dallas with Wilson contributing good minutes throughout the season. She pursues the ball with great intention, quickness, and stability in her footwork and angle production. Anthony Wayne finished as the DII state runner-up last season. Wilson was a reserve member of that team as a freshman but with the graduation of their libero, she should see increased opportunity for a team that will enter has a heavy favorite to get to the final weekend of the season once again.

Previously on the Watch List, Wilson (*pictured) makes a big splash this rankings cycle after opportunities to see her play. She competes for Legacy’s top 15U team that earned their Open-level bid to the GJNC at the Sunshine Classic. Seeing opportunities as libero and defensive specialist at times, Wilson is fundamentally sound in her serve receive movement, including her footwork and ability to create simple yet effective angles. Defensively, although 5’3, she can cover court with speed, first-step reaction that creates range, and big effort overall.
