About Victoria

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with aggressiveness and hustle, I am a player who is willing to chase down or lay out for any ball. I also try to really focus on technique when it comes to simple passing and serve receive and I always work to better the ball with my out of system hand and platform setting. I also continue to work on my consistent and efficient serving.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My outgoing and cheerful personality allows me to be approachable and a person people enjoy being around. These traits carry onto the court and help me with my amazing leadership and communication skills. I will always try to lift the team up and talk through any issue on or off the court. I also am a very committed and determined player that will always work for improvement.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

In school, I am currently part of the French club, Hispanic Heritage Club, Dollars for scholars, N-Teens and National Honors Society. I have won multiple academic awards like academic letter winner 2 years in a row for my 3.98 and 3.94 weighted GPA. Also Department of Indiana District Award winner award.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I work to develop my leadership and teamwork skills everyday whether that is in school or in volleyball. I am a versatile person that can adapt to environments and new surroundings. If there is a small lack of chemistry I try to fill that gap with high communication. I am a volleyball coach and I am getting ready to serve as a volleyball referee

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I sprained my ankle last season, trying to regain the confidence to play on it 100% with discomfort was challenging, as I am a player whose biggest quality is hustle. Another significant challenge was trying to remain a leader and stay present for my team when I was facing difficult situations, while always showing up for my team.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for colleges with a good environment from both people and campus. I want a place that can provide the tools for education I need. A place where I can be challenged but also prepared. I also want to be part of a good criminal justice program as I want to go to law school after college to become a criminal defense attorney.
