About Whitney

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m excited to embrace the new challenges that beach volleyball offers, 25-26 season with SIBVC Beach Open team. My play is defined by versatility and strategic adaptability. I excel both defensively with consistent digs and offensively with a diverse hitting range. My ability to effectively execute serves, digs, blocks, and hits allow me to seamlessly transition between roles on the sand.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is driven by a deep love for beach volleyball and a commitment to continuous improvement. I approach every match with a competitive fire, but I thrive on the sport's demands, learning from every point and adapting quickly. My resilient nature allows me to remain composed under pressure, overcome mistakes, and bounce back stronger in the dynamic environment of the sand court.

Longspaugh played with confidence on the outside during the Expo, and coaches mentioned her husting work in the back row and serve-receive. The 2027 from Stanwood has also played middle, but her athleticism and movement translate well to a spot on the pin. Longspaugh has the length and power to put balls away; her game should grow as she trains in the outside position.

Longspaugh may not be long for the middle position, she is taking swings as an outside for her Blue Royals team, and is a consistent scorer. She has a repeatable arm swing and keeps the ball in play making the defense work. Either out of the middle or on the pin, Longspaugh has a big approach that generates excellent power that racks up kills.

Longspaugh was dynamic at the Expo, showing the form that earned her 1st Team All-Conference in the Metro 2A/3A this season. The freshman from Stanwood has a heavy arm swing, and she was able to turn the ball to score against big blocks. Expo coaches noted her ability to get off the net and make herself available for her setters in transition.
