Yasmine’s team is undefeated heading into this weekend, and she knows exactly what that means. “My team and I are currently 9-0, so we are for sure looking to compete against the best of the best and see where we stand against a Sierra Canyon or a Mater Dei.”

Her communication is what she leans on. “My communication and leadership is something my coaches can always count on me for. When someone is in their head while I’m on the court, I’m someone they can look up to, to let them know focus on the next play.” She’s also candid about the mindset behind her consistency: “I’m putting myself in pressure-like situations where when we need a pass and the ball comes to me, I’m already expecting it, so I can make my setter shine.”

Yasmine is a leukemia survivor, diagnosed between the ages of three and six and is targeting Division I.
