A class of 2024 prospect, Humphrey has been a huge addition to the HJV 17 Elite team that will compete in the 17 Open division, making them even stronger. A UCLA commit, she has one of the strongest net presences in the state, making plays on both sides of the ball and dominating the net. An extremely athletic player, she can take matches over offensively and, at the same time, make the life of the opponent’s main hitters absolutely miserable with her blocking. A lot of Humphrey’s tremendous production on the court comes from her mindset, which is at the same time calm and aggressive, making of her one of the smartest players on the court.

Humphrey is one of the most dominant middles in Texas and her move to St. Pius X last year entirely changed the team’s situation in the TAPPS league. Few middles can take matches over at the net in the way Humphrey does and she’s one of just a few with the ability to shut down even the opponent’s top offensive player. Her blocking is very intelligent and aggressive and her swings in the middle are extremely difficult to stop, especially after she gets into a rhythm.

Humphrey was hands down the most impactful middle in the tournament, leading her team HJV 17 Elite to an undefeated campaign. She got quite a few stops at the net as the excellent blocker she is but her ability to alter opponents’ shots only her presence at the net is what really makes of her a very special player. Humphrey is very calm and focused and reads the game extremely well too. She’s a very efficient offensive player and her excellent footwork makes of her an attacking alternative even in transition plays.

UCLA commit Humphrey has long been considered one of the top middles in the entire state and her performance in the event certainly justified it. She was a force at the net for division winners HJV 17 Elite and no other middle was as impactful as she was all day. Humphrey’s blocking is incredibly intimidating and, when she didn’t get the stop, she strongly affected the hitter’s decision-making up at the net. She was also very active and efficient on the offensive side of the game, using her great footwork to make herself available in every play and swinging hard to score.

One of the most dominant and promising middles in her age group, Humphrey makes of HJV 17 Elite a fearsome team to play against. The prospect of battling against Humphrey certainly gives chills to opposing middles as she’s incredibly strong on both sides of the ball. Tremendously athletic, Humphrey is really difficult to stop, even when she can’t make a full offensive approach, as she uses her length well, can hit a variety of sets and, when given the opportunity, hammers the ball straight down, giving no chance to defenders across the net. Her blocking is also nothing short of great as she combines size, mobility and great timing at the net.

St. Pius X added a player with the ability to change the course of a season in Humphrey, who joined the team this season after starring for Klein. A middle with impressive range and athleticism, she dominates the net like few others. Her blocking is probably her most valuable asset as she combines excellent mobility with great technique to shut down opponents. She’s also a powerful hitter, who can overpower nearly every opposing blocker.
