About Zoe

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm aggressive and vocal on the court because I believe the setter absolutely must be. She must be the team quarterback. I also think my on-court decision making is a strength. I'm comfortable running any style of offense, but at 5'9" I'm proud that I've proven I can run a 5-1 effectively.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I don’t do anything half-speed on the court or in the classroom. I’m a tenacious worker and coachable at the same time. Coming from a career military family, I’ve learned (and continue to learn) about leadership and mental toughness. I know that the privilege of playing in college means I need to put in the extra work to earn it, and I’m doing that.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I'm involved in Student Council, our school philanthropy (called Tigerpalooza), and I'm the Vice President of the Book Club at my school. I'm in National Honor Society and am already taking AP and Honors courses.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Coming from a career military family, I’ve learned (and continue to learn) about leadership and mental toughness, and I think that has served me well on the court and in school. It has also taught me the value of service, and I've put that to use volunteering at the regional food bank.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Being a military family we have moved a lot - I think seven times in my lifetime already. It has made adjusting to a new environment a skill I've had to develop, and I think I have. We're finally settled in Oklahoma though!

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm still a sophomore so I'm working on this answer for sure, but I know I want the right combination of academics, program culture and "family" feel among team members.
