With players having already committed to NCAA Division One Tournament teams, there is still plenty of talent left that is still left unsigned. All of these players have been playing high level club their whole prep career, and some have carried their high school teams to new heights and shiny hardware to take home from the State Tournament at the Resch Center in Green Bay. Here is a pre-club look at some of the Class of 2019 unsigned athletes.
Maddie Berezowitz – Burlington – Milwaukee Sting
Looking at a roster and seeing someone from Milwaukee Sting along with Burlington High School, it is a guarantee the athlete is well coached, high volleyball IQ, scrappy, and the ability to play multiple positions. Berezowitz is a swiss army knife on the court with the ability to play multiple positions and also knows how to win, having just come off a State Championship with the Burlington Demons this past season. This season Berezowitz will be playing with Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold which features other top prospects in Dru Kuck, Kayce Litzau, and Brianna Scuric. With a challenging schedule ahead this club season, 17 Gold will be battle tested and gain lots of great exposure at tournaments across the country.
Selena Levendoski – Clayton – MN Select
Sometimes coaches, fans, and even players can get caught up in height and often use the phrase “undersized”. Levendoski has heard that phrase as a 5’9 middle, but she can flat out play. She is powerful, quick, and has a great shot selection. This past season, she led Clayton to a Division 4 State Title with 27 kills in the semifinals and 21 kills in the finals, earning All-Tournament Team Honors. Levendoski also was named 2nd Team All-State by the WVCA. Despite not being the prototypical middle, Levendoski has the athletic ability, IQ, and ability to find a way to score points and win she will be a great catch at the next level. She is also a 4.0 student which always help too!
Gabby Murray – Xaver High School (Appleton) – Wisconsin Volleyball Academy
Murray has gotten the attention of Division 1 coaches nearly touching 10 feet and being a very fundamentally sound middle blocker. This past season she was co-player of the year in The Bay Conference and Post Crescent All-Area with 272 kills, 65 blocks, and 75 ace serves. She also has experience playing USA High Performance in 2016. Murray has seen high level volleyball her whole prep career and will be a great fit as a true middle at the next level.
Rachel Aasby – Lourdes Academy (Oshkosh) – Wisconsin Volleyball Academy (Title Picture)
Rachel is no stranger to the big stage of prep volleyball, playing for Oshkosh Lourdes which includes three straight seasons of finishing the season at the Resch Center in Green Bay. This past season Aasby was named 3rd Team All State as well as All Tournament Team, with Lourdes finishing runner up to Clayton in the D4 Finals. Over the course of the season Aasby finished with 400 kills, 324 digs, and 70 aces. She has the ability to play on the pin or can be a quality libero/defensive specialist.
Sarah Malone – Waunakee – Capital Volleyball Academy
Malone was recently featured in “Part 2: Best of the Bros”, and she is worth mentioning in the Class of 2019 prospects of unsigned. As a high academic student, a libero for a state team, and earning All State Honors for Waunakee High School this past season, she is one of the many liberos from the class of 2019 that is a solid catch. 674 digs this past season is no fluke. Malone and fellow club and high school teammate Kiana Schmitt will be a dynamic duo this club season as well as next year as a favorite in Division One to possibly take home a gold ball.
Chloe Tome – Wauwatosa East – Milwaukee Sting/MVP
Tome already has over 1000 kills and 1000 digs in her prep career at Wauwatosa East, with at least 300 kills in each year of her prep career so far. This past season she earned All State Honorable Mention honors as well as 1st Team All Conference in the volleyball dominant Greater Metro Athletic Conference, consisting of Milwaukee prep powerhouses. Tome’s indoor game success is a reflection of her beach play, where she partnered with Liz Gregorski (fellow 2019 Wisconsin commit of FC Elite) to finish as one of the top beach combos in the country last summer. Tome has the ability to handle lots of activity from serve receive into attacking and can score points at will.
