Tosa East, New Berlin West Take Home Tournament Titles

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We're past the beginning of the season where teams are starting to establish themselves among the rest.&nbsp; This past weekend McFarland and Kettle Moraine Lutheran hosted tournaments where we saw some key matchups, milestones, and momentum built into the halfway point of the season?&nbsp; Yes, we have just over a month left of the regular season where plenty of volleyball to be had.&nbsp; Let's take a look at winners of McFarland and Kettle Moraine Lutheran.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Wauwatosa East Takes Home McFarland Title</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Tosa East has had quite a week.&nbsp; They started conference play by knocking off the defending state champions in Sussex Hamilton 3-2.&nbsp; At the McFarland Invite they started pool play by defeating Port Washington and Middleton in sweeps.&nbsp; In the gold pools they were going toe to toe with Freedom and Muskego.&nbsp; In their matchup against Freedom they would take down the Irish in two sets while defeating Muskego 2-1 in set scores 25-22, 22-25, 15-6.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On the season, The Red Raiders have been led by Georgetown commit [player_tooltip player_id='545509' first='Sylvia' last='Flood'].&nbsp; The junior has the ability to take over a match where she is averaging 4.4 kills per set and 3.4 digs per set.&nbsp; Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='771899' first='Juliet' last='Otto'] has been doing a little bit of everything as well.&nbsp; She is averaging 2.2 kills per set, 2.2 digs, and 4.2 assists per set.&nbsp; A true swiss army knife type of player who can do a little bit of everything to help her team.&nbsp; Libero [player_tooltip player_id='487011' first='Helena' last='Otto'] continues to hold down the backrow where she is averaging nearly five digs&nbsp; per set.&nbsp; A new name to keep tabs on would be sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='881565' first='Kendall' last='Stapel'] who has nearly 50 kills and hitting over .200.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lillian Big Eagle of Freedom just surpassed 2,000 career assists.&nbsp; The senior is one of the top uncommitted athletes in the Class of 2027.&nbsp; She has been in command of the Irish offense her entire career where she knows how to defend her position as well as keep the other side of the net off balanced. In the title match they defeated Waunakee 2-0 and were led by [player_tooltip player_id='586861' first='Willow' last='Kumprey'] and [player_tooltip player_id='769309' first='Kylie' last='Tuescher'] who combined for 19 kills in the match.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With their 5-0 performance on Saturday, NBW moves to 17-2 on the season.&nbsp; They are led by Kumprey who is averaging 4.5 kills per set.&nbsp; She is a six rotation outside hitter who can score points from anywhere off multiple tempos.&nbsp; Her setter [player_tooltip player_id='583939' first='Mikayla' last='Martin'] is dynamic, she can defend and run the show as a 5-1 setter.&nbsp; She is already at 440 assists on the season.&nbsp; In the backrow is libero [player_tooltip player_id='435898' first='Morgan' last='Kopischke'] is leading the way for the Vikings at 4.6 digs per set.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
