SubscribeMove over Tapp sisters, there is a new set of twins eager to take over Minnesota volleyball. Cassie and Ellie Sieling are sisters from Bloomington, Minnesota filled with potential and twin power. Only in 8th grade, but already becoming strong, all-around players you will want to watch in the years to come.
The sisters attend Olson Middle school and play for the powerhouse Vital Volleyball Club. They are on the 14-1’s team and have helped lead their team to many great victories this season including a 2nd place finish at Frostbite Festival. Other note-worthy wins include defeating M1 15 White, MN Select 14-1, and Ohana 14U National-among others.
While the sisters are not identical twins, we see many similarities on the court. Cassie is 5’5” and Ellie is 5’6”. Cassie plays as a right-side and Ellie can be found hitting on the left-side. They both have a 22 inch/23 inch vertical. Both sisters are very athletic and seemed to have mastered many skills already: jump serving, swing blocking, and the 4-step approach.
Vital teams always have tenacious defense and strong serve receivers; the sisters fit in well. They have strong fundamental skills and move well on defense. When watching the Sieling girls, along with their 14-1 teammates, it appears you’re watching an older team by the way they execute offense off of free balls; taking advantage of opponent’s mistakes. However, this young team is made up of eighth, seventh and a sixth grade players, and there aren’t many times when there isn’t a Seiling on the court.
Cassie and Ellie lead with confidence and poise. They both jump high and hit hard. We can’t wait to see how tall and talented they become over the next few years under the guidance of Vital’s coaches Mark Nelson, Sophie Schwartz, and Maddie Beal (former University of Minnesota volleyball player.) One can’t help but wonder if they will soon take over as the new twins of volleyball.
