River Falls High School is a gorgeous facility with four courts and another two courts for an auxiliary gym connected. Teams are guaranteed three matches a night that go for a half hour each with a playoff to be held July 30, giving the teams two weeks off between the end of summer league and the start of their high school season.

Boyceville, Clear Lake, Cretin-Derham, Ellsworth, Hastings, Hudson, New Richmond, Osceola, Park, Prescott, Prescott JV, River Falls, River Falls JV, St. Croix Central, Simley, Somerset, Stillwater. Tartan, Woodbury, River Falls Alumni (RF alums and other area alums)
Notes and Storylines:
Clear Lake brought a team full of athletes specifically who will be heading into their Junior year. The Warriors finished 2017 with a 25-10 record and a regional final before falling to Grantsburg. With three soon to be Juniors returning who had at least 100 kills in Rayne Vangsness, Julianna Rosen, and Maggie Rosen who had over 300 kills. Clear Lake will be competing in one of the top small school, Western Wisconsin conferences in the Lakeland Conference which features the likes of Cameron, Clayton, and St. Croix Central.
Kummer will be a top player in Western Wisconsin this fall.One of the top players in the gym was Mackenzie Kummer of Ellsworth. The soon to be Senior is a strong, physical middle who could also be utilizedon the pin. Her hitting efficiency will one of the best in the area. Kummer played on the 17-1 Kokoro team that was a solid national club this past season. She will be one of the top players in the Middle Border Conference.
The host River Falls, with some of the major returning players out attending camps at colleges, provided a great chance to see Anna Wolf (not related to the Wolf sisters at Green Bay), a soon to be Sophomore that has already committed to the University of Minnesota along with soon to be Junior, Maddi Kaely who will step into set for the Panthers. Wolf’s game has developed immensely with the ability to play a little backrow and even serve receive after having been a middle most of her career. Wolf touches extremely high and has the ability to hit over the block and put up a massive block herself. Kaely has been learning from one of the best to ever come through River Falls in All-State setter, Izzy Barr, and will step in and run a 5-1. Kaely is definitely a mid major Division 1 to Division 2 prospect at 5’10, great athleticism, and the ability to set from pin to pin.
An entertaining team to watch was the River Falls alumni team which consists of former players from River Falls and the surrounding area. Izzy Barr, who is heading to Augsburg to play volleyball in the Fall will set and hit for the alumni team that adds an edge to the overall field with college experience as well.
