Her brother Noah will be playing basketball at UNI and her brother Josh plays at The University of Missouri St. Louis. Carter makes a statement when she plays the game. She makes it look easy with her 10’4″ approach touch. Playing volleyball has been the easy part for Carter, the hard part was finding her college home. Carter knew she wanted to play volleyball at a high level but little did she know how long this process would take. Carter started the recruiting process in 8th grade when she received her first offer. From there the recruiting process was often times difficult to navigate and she was unsure of what she truly was looking for. This past club year is when she narrowed down her options to 4 schools. She was able to get to know each coaching staff very well and planned to take official visits early this fall. Ultimately, what she found she wanted was a great connection with the coaches and players and be able to make an impact right away in a strong conference. She found that at Kansas State University. K-State volleyball has a track record of success in a power 5 conference. Something that is very tough to do. Aliyah immediately connected with head coach Suzie Fritz and the players. “Kansas State really stood out to me in this process because I felt embraced by the coaching staff and the people I met. It is a place I know where I can get better and push myself to be at the top of my game.” Carter added. Carter talked about her goals at K-State, ” I want to be the best teammate I can be, making my team better by working hard and pushing each other to be the best we can be as a team.” Carter has been through many ups and downs over the past 4 years in this recruiting process, trying to sift through schools to find the perfect fit for her. We asked her to give some advice to those that are currently going though this process, ” Patience is key, find a school that Is the right fit for you both in the gym and the classroom. “
