Class B All-State Teams: Player of the Year Krause Cranked it Up When it Mattered Most

Statistically speaking, Skutt Catholic sophomore and 6’3 Husker volleyball recruit Lindsay Krause did not have the best season of her young career, but when it comes down to it, no player is more feared in Class B by opposing coaches than her.

After missing the very first part of the season while playing overseas with Team USA, Krause came back and battled through some injuries and ultimately led the Skyhawks to their fourth-straight Class B state title. Krause finished the year with 260 kills (3.4 per set) while hitting .329 with 39 solo blocks, 21 ace serves and 168 digs.

And when it mattered the most – at the state tournament – Krause cranked it up another notch. She averaged 3.2 kills per set during the season prior to state, but in the state tournament she averaged 4.5 per set in three matches and hit .343.

For her performance this season, Krause has been named the Prep Dig Class B Player of the Year in Nebraska.

The other finalists for the Player of the Year honor were Emma Worthington of Omaha Duchesne, Rylee Gray of Elkhorn South and Emerson Cyza of Alliance.

The Player of the Year honors as well as All-State recognition is based on nominations received from coaches and observations from Prep Dig.
