Minnesota is incredibly deep with talent and plenty of high-quality athletes do not get that chance to contribute until their Junior year. Here are some athletes to keep a note of throughout this high school season that will be contributors at the next level.
Jadyn Garrison – East Ridge
Garrison has had a really successful club career so far with Kokoro and will continue to progress on the high school scene as well. An incredibly dynamic athlete who can play all the way around, Garrison plays with a spark and energy that is contagious to her teammates. She will be a Junior at East Ridge that is a program on the rise and will make a big statement across their conference as well as their postseason.
Paige Sheehan – North Branch
With experience winning a state championship, Sheehan runs the show at North Branch. Yes, top prospect out of the Class of 2020 in Cianna Selbitschka receives a bulk of the sets, but it’s Sheehan who needs to keep the offense balanced and flowing. The improvement of North Branch over the year was incredible and the evolution of Sheehan was a big part of that.
Elizabeth Dille – Sartell-St. Josephs
Dille really came on to the scene last year as a Sophomore. Long, athletic and a point scorer from the outside she can hit a variety of shots from line, hard cross, and mixing in an off-speed shot as well. She will not only be a key scoring threat on the outside, but will be a go-to option out of the backrow as well.
Madison Gully – St. Francis
Gully is a six rotation outside who has a knack for scoring. An aggressive attack with a big jump and she can really create angles for herself to score in a variety of ways.
Carli Vargason – Dassel-Cokato
Vargason will be a star on the outside, but is also a really solid defender as well. From serve receive to a pass to attack situation she is fast to the ball and has an aggressive style where she’s not afraid to do some damage. She can use the block to her advantage and really find ways to get points on the board.
Allyson Treichel – Cambridge-Isanti
A strong athlete, Treichel is dynamic and really gets up quick to put a ball down. A middle blocker who can move from pin to pin as well as transition in system to be available to swing can really hit the deep corner or thump on the ten foot line
Marissa Teorey – HLWW
Teory is a setter who runs the show as the setter. With the ability to put it on the pin or run a variety of tempos to her middles, her volleyball IQ is what sets her apart on the court. At 5’9 she also has the ability to score points herself making her presence known offensively and defensively with her block.
