To see three to four of these teams find their way to Cedar Rapids at the end of the year would be no surprise. Ankeny, Dowling, Valley, and Waukee are coming off state appearances last year and have already seen a bit of each other in the season so far.

Win vs. Waukee – 3-2
Win vs. Valley – 2-1
Loss vs. Cedar Falls – 0-2
Seniors are leading the way with Isabelle Vacek and Malea Daugherty are the top attackers for the Hawkettes which is no surprise. With big wins to start the year with Waukee and another verse Valley they will have a target on their back heading into the weekend. Phyona Schrader already has over 100 assists on the year, but is also averaging over 1.5 kills per set.
Valley – Ranked 3rd
Loss vs. Ankeny 1-2
Win vs. Dowling 2-1
Loss vs. Cedar Falls 0-2
Valley is so balanced with strong athletes at each position. Hayden Kubik is leading the way as the top Sophomore in the state with nearly 4.5 kills per set. Payton Lombardi is next up contributing after spending most of her career as a libero. Now there are two Lombardi’s with Payton taking swings and Freshman, Olivia Lombardi holding down the backrow. Omaha recruit, Olivia Curry is doing it all with dishing to her hitters and also attacking at the net, being third on the team in kills.
Waukee – Ranked 4th

Loss vs. Lewis Central
Win vs. Dowling 2-1
South Dakota State commit Kate Nelson and Layanna Green have been extremely dominant for Waukee which comes at no surprise. Senior Lily Becker has been averaging over eight assists per set so far. This weekend will be a true test to see how they fall seeing Ankeny again after falling just short in their season opener.
Dowling – Ranked 5th
Loss vs. Cedar Falls 0-2
Loss vs. Valley 1-2
Loss vs. Waukee 1-2
Wins vs. Fort Dodge, Lincoln (2x), Dike-New Hartford
No surprise that Dowling is finding success in balance with five players with over 30 kills so far this season, led by Anna Godfredsen who has 59 kills so far. Junior, Anna Flynn is holding down the backrow with over 60 digs so far.
