<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Broken Bow (32-2) has put the petal to the metal this season with their motto “All gas, no breaks!” After a district final loss to St. Paul in 2018, Broken Bow finally made it to state and strives to be playing on Saturday. The Indians last appeared at state in 2000.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With the only bumps in the road this season being #1 seed St. Paul (33-0, 2018 3rd Place at State) and #3 seed Lincoln Lutheran (34-3, 2018 State Runner-Up), the Indians pulled off some monumental wins. The semifinals of the Seward Invitational in mid-September pitted the Indians against #2 seed Wahoo (28-3, 2017 &amp; 2018 State Champs) in the semifinals and the Indians prevailed winning two sets to none; the only C-1 team to beat Wahoo this season.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Since then, Broken Bow won the Southwest Conference for the first time since 1988. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#5 seed Broken Bow faces #4 seed Wayne (29-5) in the first round on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Lincoln North Star High School. With a win the Indians could face St. Paul again in the semifinals on Friday at 1:00 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">7th year head coach <strong>Skylar Morris</strong> reached 100 wins last season and would like nothing better to add some more this weekend. Coach Morris comments on team bonding and team unity, “</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">We have done a lot! We have a big team bonding event during conditioning week and brought in a lady who does these sort of things and really pushed our team out of their comfort zone and become good teammates.  We have had multiple suppers and meetings to carry over from that.”</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Indians will rely on 2018 Class C-1 Honorable Mention senior </span><b>Majesta Valasek</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> at the net and sophomore setter </span><b>Kailyn Scott</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> with over 1,000 set assists in her career so far. But, they have a core group of athletes ready to battle!</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#0 </span><b>Emily Trotter </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">- Senior, 23 aces at 95% serving, 235 digs, 154 serve receptions</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#2 </span><b>Sydney Carrizales</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> - Senior, 46 blocks</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#3 </span><b>Keiana Kociemba</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> - Senior,  82 digs</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#6 </span><b>Madison Neely</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> - Senior, 115 kills, 51 aces, 53 blocks, 230 digs, 258 serve receptions</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#7 </span><b>Majesta Valasek</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> - Senior, 401 kills, 25 aces, 255 digs</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#10 </span><b>Kailyn Scott </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">- Sophomore, 33 aces at 92.1% serving, 228 digs. 743 assists</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#12 </span><b>Kya Scott</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> - Sophomore, 165 kills, 57 aces at 93.6% serving, 306 digs, 225 serve receptions</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">#24 </span><b>Lindsay Schauda</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> -  Senior, 114 kills, 35 blocks</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Meet the team:</span></p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you could mic up anyone on your team who would it be and what would they say?</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Madison Neely - </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Emily Trotter, She would say that she tells us that we need to go out strong and get the lead right away.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Majesta Valasek - Emily Trotter, she would say a lot about how hard our team has worked to get to this goal.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kailyn Scott - It would be Majesta and she would say, “ Let’s go. Let’s get this ship” We don’t have the targets on our backs anymore, so let’s play like we know how to play.”</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kya Scott - Emily Trotter- I’m pumped up!!!! LETS GOOOO. </span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">What does coach tell you to do time after time?</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Madison - </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">You need a higher toss for your serve.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Majesta - </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Coach is constantly reminding us to trust each other, and no matter what go after the ball. Also she reminds us a lot to eat healthy and get good rest. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kailyn - </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">To set it to my main hitters when the game is close and to get to the ball faster reaction time </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kya - </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Be ready </span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Favorite go to app and why</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Madison - </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Facebook because I love being able to keep up with family I don’t see often.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Majesta - </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">my favorite go to app is Tik Tok because it has the most entertaining videos on it. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kailyn - </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">NETFLIX because I love watching Vampire Diaries</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Kya - </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Twitter, that’s where all our volleyball videos are and pictures </span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Pregame superstitions</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Madison - </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">I have to put my ankle braces and shoes on the same way every time. </span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Majesta - </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">I use to have pragame superstitions but my senior year I have tried my best to not have any.
