As players, coaches, and recruiters transition from fall to club season, there are many athletes who will be entering the club scene hot off successful high school seasons. No stranger to top volleyball talent is the Siouxland area, pulling top players from NW Iowa, SE South Dakota, and NE Nebraska. Midwest Volleyball Power United based out of North Sioux City, South Dakota in the CNOS Fieldhouse/United Sports Academy houses many of these players during the spring. Here is a look at those players and what they can bring to a college program.

2021 – [player_tooltip player_id="41243" first="Pypr" last="Stoeffler"] – Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist – LeMars

There are not many players who are as well-rounded, consistent, and possess as much ball-control as Stoeffler. This talented 5’7” junior could play and dominate any position you put her in. She played all-around outside for LeMars this season where she tallied 302 kills and 352 digs for the Bulldogs. This season, Stoeffler was named to the 2019 4A West All-District Team. Along with her notable high school achievements, Stoeffler competed for the top Iowa High Performance team at the 2019 HP Championships and will be a member of Midwest Volleyball Power’s 17 RED squad in 2020.

2021 – Lineya Wells – Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter – Sioux City East

What Wells may lack in height as a 5’7” OH, she certainly makes up for in her explosive vertical and quick arm. Wells has been a dominate OH and MB for Sioux City East since her freshman season. She tallied 348 kills and 77 digs her junior season. She was tabbed as one of the top six players in the 2019 Missouri River Conference by Iowa KMAland. Wells will be a member of the Midwest Volleyball Power 17 RED squad for the 2020 club season.

2021 – Taylor Wilshire – Libero – Dakota Valley

For a young athlete, Wilshire has ridiculous court awareness, great ability to read/anticipate plays, and a rare knowledge for the game. Wilshire recently became a South Dakota high school athlete, transferring to Class A powerhouse, Dakota Valley, for her junior year where she just helped the Panthers to a state runner-up finish after spending her first two seasons at Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City, IA. At Heelan, Wilshire was named as a 2018 Missouri River Honorable Mention All-Conference selection and in 2019 she was just tabbed for DAK12 2nd Team recognition. In 2019, Wilshire was a member of the Midwest Volleyball Power 17 BLUE squad that took 5th place in the 17 Club Division at AAU Nationals. She will be a member of MVP 18 RED this spring.

2021 – Rachel Rosenquist – Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker – Dakota Valley

Rosenquist is a quick, dynamic middle and OH who can elevate and read the court. As a member of the 2019 South Dakota Class A State Runner-Up Team, Rosenquist notched 272 kills on the season and was tabbed to the State All-Tournament Team in addition to receiving DAK12 1st Team honors. Along with her high school successes, she will also be a member of the MVP 17 RED team based out of North Sioux City, South Dakota this spring.

2021 – Kiernan Groendyke – Defensive Specialist – MOC-Floyd Valley

Groendyke is a tough-minded defensive-specialist who will run through a brick wall before letting a ball touch the ground. This competitor is one of the best hustlers in the state and reads her opponents with the best of them, recording 382 digs her junior season for MOC-Floyd Valley. Her efforts earned her a spot on the Siouxland All-Conference Honorable Mention squad. When she’s not in the fall season, Groendyke can be found competing in club for Midwest Volleyball Power (she will be on MVP 17 RED this spring).

2021 – Riley Donahue – Outside Hitter/Right-Side Hitter – Sioux City East

Donahue is a fantastic all-around player and can play just about any position you put her in, not to mention her positivity and great attitude as a teammate! She does a great job reading and hitting around the block from both pins. In her junior season, Donahue notched 262 kills and 225 digs for the East Raiders. Donahue is also a member of the Midwest Volleyball Power United club team, competing for the 17 RED team in 2020.

More Outstanding Players To Watch

Courtney Johnson (2021) – Middle Blocker – Sioux City North

One of the best blockers in the Siouxland area. MVP 17 RED

[player_tooltip player_id="41249" first="Mia" last="Gamet"] (2021) – Defensive Specialist – Sergeant Bluff

Scrappy defender who will stop at nothing to get a ball. MVP 17 RED

Chloe Kramer (2021) – Setter – Sioux City East

Consistent setter with phenomenal court awareness and defensive skills. MVP 17 RED

Sophia Atchison (2022) – Right-Side Hitter / Setter– Dakota Valley

Left-handed hitter who can put the ball away. MVP 17/18 WHITE

Tori Shultz (2022) – Middle Blocker – Dakota Valley

Physical player who can run a dynamic slide. MVP 16 RED

Sammie Archer (2022) – Defensive Specialist – Dakota Valley

This DS reads well, is quick, and has an aggressive serve and back-row attack. MVP 17/18 WHITE

Addisyn Mosier (2022) – Outside Hitter/Setter/DS – Sergeant Bluff-Luton

Fantastic ball-control and can excel in literally any position. MVP 18 RED

Alex Radcliffe (2022) – Right-Side/Outside – Sioux City East

Statistically was one of the best all-around sophomores in the Siouxland area. Great student of the game. MVP 16 RED

Brooklyn Roder (2023) – Middle Blocker – Lawton Bronson

Great ability to read opponents as a blocker. MVP 15 RED

Upcoming High School Talent To Keep An Eye On

Ashlyn Strohbeen (2024) – Outside Hitter – Sioux City North

All-around player who makes smart decisions on the court. MVP 14 RED

Maliyah Hacker (2025) – Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker – Bishop Heelan

As a 6’1” middle-schooler, this athlete is sure to turn some heads with her dynamic ability. MVP 13 RED

Ava Lloyd (2025) – Outside Hitter – Sioux City North

For her age, this athlete is a very mature player and can do it all! She’s got a great serve and fantastic ball-control. MVP 13 RED
