Impact 18 National Ready To Take On Prep Dig Resolution
Impact Volleyball Club has been one of the clubs taking over the new Community First Champions Center and will be playing on their homecourt for the 2020 Prep Dig Resolution January 4-5. With a new vibe to the club and new facility there will be some familiar names to the Impact 18 National Team.
PitonThe Local Seniors
For Taylor Vanden Berg and Megan Piton of Appleton North, Lauren Richards of Appleton West, and Maggie Rohde of Hortonville, they will get to end their club career just miles from where they’ve grown up and went to high school in one of the top facilities in the region. Vanden Berg and Piton ended their high school careers at North with a FVA conference title and state tournament appearance with Piton as the high IQ libero and Vanden Berg as the physical and offensive setter. Both will head to Division 2 programs with Piton to Colorado Christian in the Denver area and Vanden Berg to Wingate in North Carolina. Wingate has been a top D2 school on the coast the past couple of seasons. Richards is the springy middle who can quickly get up and fly or score on a slide, she will head to Michigan Tech who is coming of a national tournament appearance. Rohde can put up a big block out of the middle or right side and will be heading to UW-Parkside who is bringing in a strong Class of 2020 recruiting class of in-state talent.
The Green Bay Area Connection
KoskaAlyssa Koska, Ammerae Peebles, and Molly Rader are coming down from the Green Bay area with Koska being a six rotation all around athlete from Bay Port and Peebles and Rader competing for Notre Dame. Koska can slice and dice from the outside, where she reads the block and the other side of the net always aware of what’s open on the court – she is solid in serve receive as well. She was a key part in Bay Ports FRCC title this past high school season. Peebles will be the scrappy defender who will be looked to for depth in serve receive and defense. Rader will be part of a front line that provides plenty of length and a presence offensively and defensively at the net as a middle blocker.
The Gateway To The North
Katelyn Wilber and Baylie Hanson will be coming down from Shawano while Sam Coron will be a setter/defensive specialist from Oconto Falls. Wilber is a six rotation type of athlete where she can swing on the pin or can be relied upon to provide a solid first contact. Hanson is 6’3 and left handed providing a big block and a whole lot of power on the right side. Coron is scrappy, a really athletic player where she can be relied upon to do a variety of things for the team where she can put up a great ball for her attackers or come in and pick up a dig.
