2021 Dominant Dallas Area Attackers

Over the last couple of decades or so Dallas has been a hotbed of talent for the sport of volleyball. Dallas schools and clubs have dominated the VB scene winning most of the State Championships and Medaling at USA Volleyball Nationals. These young ladies we are about to discuss are not going to relinquish that stronghold just yet.

[caption id="attachment_90170" align="alignright" width="272"] Photo Credit - [player_tooltip player_id="87393" first="Kaylee" last="Cox"] Twitter[/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="87393" first="Kaylee" last="Cox"] [2021] 6-1 Outside (HS: Flower Mound/Club: Texas Advantage/ Verbal: Missouri)

In 2018 Kaylee was named the Dallas Area News All Area Volleyball Player of the Year. She helped her Flower Mound high school team win a state championship. This past year she was named to the Midseason ALL-USA Girls volleyball player of the year candidate. We have her ranked as the 5th best player in the State of Texas. She is no stranger to these accolades and that will continue into her senior season that she is gearing up for. Her and her amazing TAV club team have been one of the teams to beat in the nation every year. She hits the ball with such raw power from her super fast swing. She regularly hits a second tempo from play-sets out of serve receive at an astonishing efficient pace. Her senior season is going to be one for the record books as she looks to keep pace with what she has already accomplished on the court. She will be a star for Missouri in a few years.

[caption id="attachment_90172" align="alignleft" width="241"] Photo Credit: SportsRecruits - TAV[/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="87394" first="Angelique" last="Cyr"] [2021] 5-10 Outside (HS: Flower Mound/Club: Texas Advantage/Verbal: Arizona State)

Miss Cyr comes in ranked as the 6th ranked player in the State of Texas. Teaming with the above-mentioned [player_tooltip player_id="87393" first="Kaylee" last="Cox"], this duo has been one of the most dominant outside forces we have seen in a while. While slightly undersized compared to the six-footers the state has at the outside position, this young lady can bang. When you see her approach like any normal 5-10 player, you think you will get a normal nice hard cross court shot like other players her size. Nope! Not even close. This young lady has a CANNON for an arm. She explodes on the ball as if her life depended on it. You would think you are watching some Marvel comic book movie hearing the ball come off of her hand. Arizona State fans will enjoy watching this young lady throttle the ball in a few years. I think her senior season will be a great one and we are looking to see if her and Kaylee can duplicate their previous accomplishments.

[player_tooltip player_id="87408" first="Samantha" last="Jacobs"] [2021] 6-0 Outside (HS: Prosper/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Alabama)

We have Samantha ranked as the 20th best player in the State of Texas. Samantha is used to getting accolades also as she has been named to almost every list there is with volleyball publications. Boasting a 29inch vertical, this young lady can soar and score and will. She has been gifted with a golden arm that she will take to the University of Alabama in a few years and will definitely help the Tide Roll. She is one of many on the star studded Prosper High School volleyball team that has one state championship and two other deep runs at State. I think they are due for one more historic run this coming season. Keep your eyes on Miss Jacobs and her crew as they look to continue their dominance on the court in high school. As for club, this past year her amazing team medaled in the Open division of USA Nationals.

[caption id="attachment_90173" align="alignright" width="209"] Photo Credit: Excel VBC[/caption]
[player_tooltip player_id="87421" first="Avery" last="Lowe"] [2021] 6-0 Outside/Right Side (HS: Plano West/Club: Excel VBC/Verbal: Gonzaga)

Miss Lowe is an all around outside hitter who can do it all. She is a true six-rotation player who can light it up. This is why Prep Dig has her ranked as the 33rd best player in the State of Texas. Her and her club teammates at Excel are coming off of a 2019 medal at USA Nationals in the USA division. She is also a member of the state finalist Plano West high school team. They are looking to duplicate that great run this coming year. She has verbally committed to Gonzaga. Miss Lowe truly utilizes her core when she hits to unleash great power behind her attacks. She hits at a very high contact point and it helps her score. She is an effective blocker at the net who holds her hands very high while the opponent is in transition. Her ball control is something that can get overlooked because she attacks so well. But every time I see her play, I notice how in control she is of her body while in serve receive. We are expecting some great things this season from Miss Lowe.

There are many more amazing Dallas players to be aware of. Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes. If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at nov8vb@yahoo.com
