Prep Dig Twin Cities Slam Coming June 20-21
We’ve seen all the memes, pepper challenges, and very creative ways that teams are staying together and keeping things lively and fresh during this time of quarantine. But, raise your hand if you just want to get back to playing volleyball and being with your volleyball people (yes, parents I see you too, and feel your pain).
The future of the club volleyball world is still unknown. We make plans, plans change, then go back to the drawing board in hopes that we can all be back on the court as soon as we can. Right now, whistles blaring would be the best kind of playlist to hear at this point.
At Prep Dig, we have been doing our part in trying to be creative about how we can best help the volleyball community. We would like to introduce to you the Twin Cities Slam set to take place in the Minneapolis area on Saturday and Sunday, June 20-21.
This is not a tournament to compete with nationals (trust me, I want nationals to happen like anyone else). However, we want to provide an alternate route for teams who will not be going to Orlando or Dallas and have an event in Minneapolis that can cater to plenty of teams in the upper Midwest, and anyone else with that extra more chance to play as a team. This will be for ages 13-18 with a cost of $350 per team. The facility as of now is to be determined which is contingent on what is available between high schools and clubs in the Minneapolis Metro. We can be extremely creative with how we can structure this tournament as well. Also note, Prep Dig has its own event insurance through Prep Network which makes us independent from other governing volleyball organizations
Does your high school team play? Sure! Are you heading to college later in the summer and want to put together a team for the weekend? Absolutely!
Like anyone else in the volleyball world, we want to get back on the court by providing top notch coverage through our content, social media, photos, videos, and more. We have received plenty of highlight tapes and game matches which has helped immensely in continuing to provide coverage seen by families, fans, and coaches across the country. However, nothing would be better than to do this in person.
