The world has gone through a major change and is still changing. Here’s a shortlist of outstanding Outside Hitters from the class of 2022 that we wish the best for as they continue to play in this ever-changing world of ours.
Peyton Brokemond Peyton Brokemond 5'7" | OH Mother McAuley | 2022 State IL , 2022, 5’7, OH/RS, Mother McAuley, Michio
In a conference that your team’s number one competitor has recently graduated at least four starters, it’s important that Brokemound step up and become a young leader for the Mighty Macs. She is one of four athletes battling for a starting position.
Hannah Clayton, 2022, OH, Taylorville
Both an offensive and defensive threat, Clayton had 293 kills, 323 digs, 34 aces and 19 blocks in 2019. She will be a third-year starter as a junior, almost unheard of in high school right now. Clayton is the heart and soul of this program and will be the core of whatever program she plays with in the future.
Jillian Hamilton, 2022, OH, Pana
In 2019, Hamilton added 342 kills, 41 aces, 305 digs, 65 blocks, and a First Team All-South Central Conference selection to her career totals.
Megan Harrell, 2022, OH, Illini West, Club One
Harrell tallied 247 kills and was a first-team All-Prairieland Conference selection. She also led the Chargers in aces with 46.
Trinity Hays, 2022, 5’8, OH, DeKalb, Club Fusion
A quality and consistent outside hitter, Trinity also plays defense very well. Her swinging approach is long and dynamic. High arms and hard follow-through. Impressive. It’s hard to find a weak link in their serve receive and it’s not her. One of the team leaders for the Club Fusion ‘s outstanding 16s team.
Ella Holmstrom Ella Holmstrom 6'1" | OH Guilford | 2022 State #149 Nation IL , 2022, 6’2, OH, Guilford, VC United , Indiana
In 2019, Holstrom was named First Team All-NIC-10 for the second straight year after leading the Vikings to a 21-7 record and third place in the conference. Upon graduation, she will be headed to Indiana and play in the Big 10 for the Hoosiers.
Amanda Holsen Amanda Holsen 5'11" | OH Stevenson | 2022 State #180 Nation IL , 2022, 5’11, OH, Stevenson, Sky High
Holsen will be returning to a Stevenson program looking for a trip to the State Final Four and she has the talent to lead this team there. In 89 sets, Holsen had 451 kills and a .274 hitting percentage. Defensively, she made 51 total blocks, 252 digs, and 55 service aces.
