Another seven 17U athletes looking for college scholarships

Those circumstances are the exception as opposed to the rule, though, because even among the most elite of athletes only a small percentage will get the opportunity to compete in the collegiate format. That’s why when individuals reach that level they tend to describe it with terms like, “a dream come true”, and considering the odds against them rarely have truer words ever been said. When it comes to the individuals that have those lofty aspirations and expectations on the 17U club volleyball circuit, but have yet to sign their names on the dotted line, this includes… LEXI GILL Known as number nine with Dynamite Volleyball Club (VBC) 17 Select in South Lyon, Gill is a Defensive Specialist (DS)/Libero by trade. She is set to graduate from Brighton High School (HS) in 2022. SYDNEY SHAFT With a resume’ that includes a 109-inch Approach Jump, a 106-inch Block Jump and a 20-inch Vertical the future looks bright for Shaft. At five-foot-nine she’s a member of the class of 2021 and plays for Attack VBC 17U National-Black in Okemos. Because she also has a Wingspan of 69-inches, a Standing Reach of 86-inches and a Vertical Touch of eight-foot-10 those hopes for collegiate attention are that much more likely. GABRIELLE CUMMINGS At five-foot-11 Cummings plays Right Side and dons jersey number five for Legacy VBC 17-2 ADIDAS in Rochester. In 2021 she’s also scheduled to graduate from Novi HS. ANN HOULE The only Setter on her club team, Houle sports jersey number four for Attack VBC 17-Select. She’s a member of the class of 2021 at Canton HS, as well. MEGHA GONDI A Middle Blocker who stands in at five-foot-10 Gondi wears jersey number 18 for Legacy VBC 17-2 ADIDAS. In 2021 she’s also set to graduate from Novi HS. MADISON BRADSHAW Slated to graduate from South Lyon HS in 2022, Bradshaw wears jersey number 15 and plays Outside Hitter (OH) and DS for Dynamite VBC 17 Select. REA MARFATIA Beyond being scheduled to graduate from Rochester Adams HS in 2021, Marfaita stands in at five-foot-10. She’s also a Middle Blocker who wears jersey number 18 for Legacy VBC 17-2 ADIDAS. Some of the other players on the roster for Dynamite VBC 17 Select who could eventually get an offer to play collegiate volleyball include Middle Blocker Maria Vitale and DS/Libero Sophia Hoglund. The same could be said for Molly Nakpairat, who is five-foot-eight, wears jersey number 15 for Legacy VBC 17-2 ADIDAS and is a member of the class of 2021 at Father Gabriel Richard HS.
