Five 16th Region Senior Setters to Watch

<p>The 16th Region features several talented seniors, some of whom are setters. </p> <p>Here are five 16th Region senior setters to watch.</p> <p><strong>Madison Adkins:</strong> A senior setter/right side hitter for West Carter, Adkins is a versatile performer. Through West Carter’s first 12 matches in the 2020 high school volleyball season, Adkins has recorded 247 assists, 119 digs, 53 service aces, 58 kills and 18 blocks. Able to excel at multiple positions, Adkins is among the most underrated volleyball players in the 16th Region. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="68113" first="Abby" last="Baker"]:</strong> A senior setter for Boyd County, Baker recorded the 2,000 assist of her high school career earlier in the month. Baker is a longtime leader for Boyd County. Through Boyd County’s first 11 matches in the 2020 high school volleyball season, Baker has recorded 268 assists, 92 digs and 14 service aces. The athletic Baker runs offenses well and possesses strong communication skills. </p> <p><strong>Matti Mers:</strong> A senior setter/defensive specialist for Fleming County, Mers produces offensively and defensively. Eight matches into her senior season, Mers has logged 124 assists, 52 digs, 20 service aces and 10 kills. Mers identifies blockers consistently and can deliver from both the front row and back row.</p> <p><strong>Macie Webb:</strong> A senior setter for Raceland, Webb is another player off to a solid start in her final prep season. Webb has already recorded 100-plus assists and 100-plus digs in her senior campaign. A vocal leader and an accurate passer who has shown the ability to make challenging digs consistently, Webb is among the leaders for former 16th Region frontrunner Raceland. </p> <p><strong>Desarae Willis:</strong> A senior setter for Greenup County, Willis also provides leadership for her team. Through the first 11 matches in her senior season, Willis has recorded 206 assists and 26 digs. Able to direct the offense and set efficiently, Willis has developed into a high school volleyball standout. </p>
