Jackson always puts on a great tournament, and the first edition for this year was no letdown. With only one hiccup in the tournament was Francis Howell Central having to leave after the 1st match where it split with St Pius and leaving Pool 1 with five teams.

Pool 1

Jackson 8-0

St Pius 5-3

Cape Central 4-4

Bernie 3-5

Perryville 3-5

Pool 2

Advance 7-1

Valle 7-1

Lesterville 4-4

North County 4-4

Saxony Lutheran 2-6

Scott City 0-8

Gold quarters

Jackson would squeeze out the win over North County 25-22, 25-23

Valle would take out Cape Central 25-12, 25-18

Advance would beat district rival Bernie 25-11, 25-14

St Pius would rally to beat Lesterville 17-25, 25-21, 25-19

Semifinals

Valle and Jackson would play a tight match with Valle taking the match in 3. 25-20, 18-25, 26-24

Advance was in a battle in the other semifinal with St Pius. St Pius was playing no fear after coming out slowly against Lesterville. The Lancers would take a 25-21 win over Class 1 Advance in set 1 with [player_tooltip player_id="102452" first="Kennedy" last="Lane"] on fire and Advance having issues all over the court. After a close set 2 and a battle back and forth, Advance took advantage of a couple of late errors and won 25-21. Setting up the third to move to the finals, the Hornets didn’t mess around. With [player_tooltip player_id="41785" first="Nyah" last="Wilson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="41758" first="Alyssa" last="Miles"] hammering and digging up every ball they touch and Alandry Below setting those sweet sets, the Hornets buzzed right by the Lancers for a 25-14 win.

Finals

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stay and watch the finals, but I did get the results. It was a rematch of Pool 2 with Valle would be the finals for the tourney. Advance would win the finals 25-22 and 25-15 and moving the Hornets record to 14-0-1 on the season.
