Let the fall season begin! There is something about that early Fall, Saturday morning that hits a little bit different. We won’t be serving Pumpkin Spice this weekend (We’ll wait until October), but we have a lineup of great teams, interesting stories, and plenty of stories to not only watch this weekend, but into the whole fall!

And The Thunder Rolls...

[caption id="attachment_108285" align="alignright" width="334"] [player_tooltip player_id="80764" first="Grace" last="Demetrician"][/caption]

The Thunder, which is comprised of athletes who attend Appleton North, ended the summer with a huge win over Waukesha West to claim the Big Ten bracket of top Division 1 schools. This team is led by Seniors [player_tooltip player_id="80719" first="Brooke" last="Bolwerk"] and [player_tooltip player_id="80764" first="Grace" last="Demetrician"], but has a balanced lineup of all ages. Ella Demetrician, a top incoming Freshman will be one to watch all fall with her ability to sky on the outside and defend in the backrow. They will have a target on their back throughout the fall as one of the top teams.

Let’s Make This “Official”

With the fluidity of the summer and Covid procedures, we opted at Prep Dig Events to not have any officials. The officials are back and ready as we will have one Up ref for every court. Teams have been great at calling their own game, but when it comes to net, doubles, and the questionable in and out calls we can leave it in the hands of the official. This will help with game management, keeping the pace of the game going, and clean up overall pay. We are very thankful to have these officials join our events!

Real Fans!

Prep Dig will be allowed to have limited spectators this Saturday. Plans were in the works to have interactive screens or cardboard cutouts similar to what you see for MLB and NBA games, but real fans will be much better. Each team on Saturday will be allowed to have 15 spectators. The number is based on the amount of space at the Community First Champion Center and the number of teams we have participating. TEAM REPS! You should be receiving an email in regards to how many tickets you will need for your team. You will be able to pick them up outside the front of the facility 30 minutes before the first wave.

Plenty of Power From Madison

The Madison area will be well represented in Appleton this fall. This weekend we have Sun Prairie, Madtown 2022’s, and Capital City coming to play. Sun Prairie has two Seniors that have been contributing their whole career in [player_tooltip player_id="80717" first="Payton" last="Addink"] (Minnesota-Duluth) and [player_tooltip player_id="80740" first="Maggie" last="Allaman"] (St. Thomas). Madtown 2022’s won a Sunset Slam bracket and one of their more dynamic players is [player_tooltip player_id="81258" first="Claire" last="Ammeraal"], the 5’10 left handed setter who can do it all from attacking, setting, and providing a big block. An extremely athletic team. Capital City will fun to see the debut for a young team who is eager to get on the court and turn some heads.

JV Divisions For Future Tournaments!
