<p>Visiting Ballard Memorial managed to shut out longtime rival Graves County 3-0 in a talent-heavy 3rd District volleyball match on Tuesday, Oct. 13.</p>
<p>With the win, Ballard Memorial improved to 21-1 overall and 4-0 in the 3rd District. </p>
<p>Graves County dropped to 11-9 overall and 2-2 in the 3rd District with the loss. </p>
<p>Ballard Memorial won 25-14, 25-15, 26-24.</p>
<p>Both Ballard Memorial and Graves County are headed into the postseason. Each team will compete in the 3rd District Volleyball Tournament in less than one week. </p>

<p>The top performers for Graves County were [player_tooltip player_id="68117" first="Audrey" last="Dowdy"] (17 kills, 1 assist, 20 digs, 1 service ace), Molly Miller (1 kill, 1 block, 20 assists, 17 digs, 1 service ace), [player_tooltip player_id="68125" first="Emily" last="Oliver"] (4 kills, 1 block, 2 assists, 10 digs, 1 service ace), Marley Shoulta (3 assists, 19 digs), Taylor Jackson (5 kills, 1 assist, 7 digs), Avery Thompson (2 kills, 1 assist, 5 digs) and Madeline Leonard (1 assist, 7 digs, 1 service ace). </p>
<p>Graves County is the reigning 3rd District champion. In 2019, Graves County blanked Ballard Memorial 3-0 in the 3rd District title match. Graves County and Ballard Memorial were two of the top five teams in the 1st Region during the 2019 high school volleyball season. </p>
