<p>Several talented players excelled for each team as Apollo pulled away to defeat Paducah Tilghman 3-1 in a late-season high school volleyball match on Saturday, Oct. 17.</p>
<p>The Apollo and Paducah Tilghman squads met for a non-district high school volleyball match. </p>
<p>Apollo won 25-8, 25-21, 25-27, 25-14.</p>
<p>With the win, Apollo improved to 16-5.</p>
<p>Paducah Tilghman dropped to 6-5 with the loss. </p>
<p>The top performers for Apollo (3rd Region) were Havanah John (16 kills, 1 dig), Madalyn Boswell (12 kills, 1 block, 5 digs, 2 service aces), Brylee Rhodes (6 kills, 1 block, 2 digs, 5 service aces), Talasie Satterfield (4 kills, 3 blocks, 7 digs, 2 service aces), Anslee Hopewell (3 assists, 17 digs) and Camryn Kerwick (2 assists, 9 digs, 1 service ace). </p>
<p>The top performers for Paducah Tilghman were [player_tooltip player_id="68132" first="Emily" last="Shumaker"] (17 kills, 19 digs, 2 service aces), Bailey Schipp (8 kills, 1 assist, 11 digs, 1 service ace), Emma Gilbert (7 kills, 1 block, 3 digs), Jaaliyah Biggers (4 kills, 3 blocks), Lexi Roof (2 kills, 1 block, 10 assists, 6 digs) Jennifer Goddard (19 digs, 2 service ace) and Natalie Lansden (1 kill, 22 assists, 3 digs, 1 service ace). </p>
<p>Rivals from different regions, Apollo and Paducah Tilghman met for the first time in the 2020 high school volleyball season. </p>
<p>The E-gals and Blue Tornado each opened the 2020 high school volleyball seasin in early-September. </p>
<p>Both Apollo and Paducah Tilghman entered the postseason at the start of the week. Each squad carried a winning record into the 2020 high school volleyball postseason. </p>
