<p>Whatever your dividing line is between Eastern and Western Kansas it’s important to note that there is some solid volleyball talent west of HWY 135.</p>
<p>Here is a look at student-athletes from Western Kansas who had outstanding 2020 volleyball seasons.</p>
<p><strong>MH, [player_tooltip player_id="105657" first="Kassidy" last="Nixon"] , 5’8”, Central Plains –</strong> Nixon, a junior, led Central Plains with 511 kills. She will be a solid recruit and knows how to win. She helped lead Central Plains to a 2020 Class 1A DI State Championship. Nixon has a long reach and finished with 85 blocks.</p>
<p><strong>OH, Lili Shubert, 5’8”, Trego</strong> – Shubert has a big 2020 season for Trego. The Golden Eagle senior finished the 2020 season with 502 kills and 92 digs.</p>
<p><strong>OH, [player_tooltip player_id="105542" first="Emilee" last="Lane"], 6’0”, TMP-Hays </strong>– Lane is very talented and a great 2020 season. She is a solid two-row player who does not need to be subbed out of matches. Lane finished with 469 kills and 2895 digs.</p>
<p><strong>S, Logan Dodge, 5’5”, Liberal –</strong> Dodge was among the leaders in assists for setters from Western Kansas. The Liberal senior finished with 717 assists and 239 digs.</p>
<p><strong>S, Anna Godek , 5’5”, Wheatland Grinnell –</strong> Godek is a junior for the Thunderhawks and an all-around player. She finished 2020 with 675 assists. She can also play right side and outside and totaled 81 kills and 222 digs last season.</p>
<p><strong>S, Kiana Unruh, 5’8”, Meade </strong>– Unruh led the Buffaloes in assists with 559. She is a junior who knows how to distribute the ball. She also finished 2020 with 108 digs and 38 kills.</p>
<p><strong>MH, Darby Smith, 5’10”, St. John –</strong> Smith was among the state leaders in blocks over the course of the 2020 season. The St. John Tiger senior finished with 167 blocks. She is a strong jumper with a long reach.</p>
<p><strong>OH, Heather Schemper, 5’11”</strong>, <strong>Phillipsburg</strong>– Schemper is the only sophomore in this report. She finished the season with 126 blocks, 351 kills, and 131 digs. She should be on every in-state DII program’s radar.</p>
<p><strong>MB, [player_tooltip player_id="105668" first="Mataya" last="Clark"], 6’1”</strong>, <strong>Dodge City</strong>– Clark is a raw talent from Dodge City to keep an eye on. She finished 2020 with 244 kills and 91 blocks. A strong 2021 season could get her multiple college volleyball offers.</p>
