First we broke the players down by division and then we switched gears to analyze who are expected to be the most outstanding athletes in the top teams of each of those divisions.
For the next several weeks, we’ll dive even deeper, taking a closer look at each of the 46 district leagues in the state of Washington and pointing out the players we believe will be worth your attention in the near future.
The Greater Spokane District is formed by high schools from the 2A, 3A and 4A classes, featuring 15 different teams, and their three best players are:
Tia Allen Tia Allen 5'11" | OH Mt Spokane | 2021 State WA – Outside Hitter – Senior – Mt. Spokane
Mt. Spokane’s Tia Allen Tia Allen 5'11" | OH Mt Spokane | 2021 State WA is hands down the best player in the district as she was not only the Greater Spokane Player of the Year in 2019 but also secured the same honor in the entire 3A class. The 5’10” hitter has been fascinating to watch with the Wildcats as she’s been consistently great for the team, leading Mt. Spokane to back-to-back State Championship titles. Ranked fifth on prepdig.com’s class of 2021 rankings, Allen stepped up hugely on last year’s final, registering as many as 14 kills against Capital.
Jacyn Bamis Jacyn Bamis 6'1" | MB Gonzaga Prep | 2021 State WA – Middle-Blocker –Senior – Gonzaga Prep
Jacyn Bamis Jacyn Bamis 6'1" | MB Gonzaga Prep | 2021 State WA is a rough gem that has been polished by Gonzaga Prep over the last few years. The 6’1” middle-blocker has not only the size but also an outstanding leaping ability that allows her to absolutely dominate the net, something she certainly did for the Bullpups in 2019, when she ended the season with 111 kills and a team-high 53 blocks. Her strong season didn’t go unnoticed as Bamis received an honorable mention for the 4A class All-State team and was an All-League first-team member besides ranking 12th at prepdig.com’s class of 2021 rankings. Most importantly, she committed to playing college volleyball for Clemson.
Telia Allen – Setter – Junior – Mt. Spokane
The Allen sisters have been outstanding for Mt. Spokane and if Tia takes up the scoring load, Telia plays another pivotal role for the Wildcats as the team’s setter. The 5’10” prospect has great size for the position, but also fantastic hands and a strong defensive game, as she showed in last year’s State Championship final, when she registered 22 assists and 17 digs against Capital. Allen was a first-team member at both the All-State and All-League teams.
