2027 Rankings Update- Summer 2026 Edition

<p>The 2027 Rankings update is live! This August 2026 update includes 254 players, with 210 ranked and another large group on the Watchlist. The Washington 2027 class has a bit of everything- highly ranked Division 1 players and prospects, great size in the deep, deep group of middles, very skilled players up and down the rankings who will stay close to home to compete at the college level, and some serious, highly ranked beach, track, softball, and basketball athletes.</p>   <p>These five players have made moves in the rankings after standout club seasons- we will run down more players and positions over the next week.</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Halalilo is a recent commit to the University of Portland; the Pilots compete in the West Coast Conference. The athletic setter and attacker from Archbishop Murphy has moved up to the 16th overall-ranked player in the class. Our scouts have noticed her ability to lead a team and make on-the-fly adjustments to find the best matchups for her hitters. Portland is getting a winner in Halalilio, and that is what every coach wants out of their setter.</p>    <p></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">The lefty scorer from Cashere has an electric arm and has continued to add to her overall game as she heads into her senior season. Smart is headed to Central Washington for her college ball, but will spend the fall battling rival Chelan for supremacy of the 1A ranks. The 5'11" opposite is now ranked 20th overall in the class. </p>    <p></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Pound is ranked at 49th overall in the class and 13th among the 2027 outsides. The rising senior from Eastlake High School has a well-rounded game; she is a confident defender and passer from the middle back spot and has the offensive game to score from the pins and the pipe. The Shorecrest prospect is 6'4", and really started to show her potential during club with WVBA 17 Adidas. Her footwork and arm swing are both progressing, and with her length and work rate, Umlauf is going to be a steal for any program that commits to bringing her on. She is currently ranked as the 80th overall prospect in the 2027 Rankings.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Pierpoint moved up in the rankings after big seasons with Gonzaga Prep during the fall and Mode 16 National in club. The 2027 libero has the strength and technique to handle big swings and has made significant gains in her out-of-system setting during the club season. Rankings are based on a player's college potential. 2. Size, explosiveness, and athleticism matter. 3. Players move up in the rankings, and that move up drops other players.</p>   <p>Our scouts track between 175 and 250 players in each class, in each state we cover. We understand that players will inevitably slip through without coverage or be undercovered. We try to keep the updates frequent so we can find and cover as many athletes as possible.
