We finally get to our court quarterbacks, the floor generals and the team leaders. There are five solid setter recruits you should know when thinking of signing one for the fall of 2021, and all five have unique qualities that can help any program.

[player_tooltip player_id="85704" first="Olivia" last="Phillips"], 5-11, Rev 18-1

Probably the most accomplished and definitely the tallest setter on this list, Olivia comes from a winning high school program (Hamilton Southeastern) and high-level club training. A left-handed setting machine, Miss Phillips locates the ball with the best of them, and can get to balls passed tight because of her size. Her blocking is also upper-level, and is definitely the best of this bunch.

[player_tooltip player_id="85691" first="Caitlin" last="Murphy"], 5-7, Team Indiana Elite 17

You read that correctly; Caitlin is a young senior running the show for the 17-1s at TI. She guided her team to a quarterfinal finish at the Central Zone Invite this past weekend, with their last loss being to tourney champ Circle City. Although undersized, Caitlin locates the ball well, plays above average defense and understands offensive flow.

[player_tooltip player_id="85751" first="Aubrey" last="Lenz"], 5-10, Circle City 17/18 Purple

[player_tooltip player_id="85770" first="Jillian" last="Gregg"], 5-9, Circle City 17/18 Purple

A long and lean setter, Aubrey gets to a ton of balls others on this list can’t simply because of her length. She can also double as a right side in a pinch, and comes from a winning high school program (Avon) too. A quiet leader, Aubrey is highly coachable and can do a little bit of everything. Jillian is almost Aubrey’s twin sister from another mister. She, too, is highly coachable, can play a little right side, and defends well in comparison with most setters from the state of Indiana. Her set location is above average, and both should find a home next fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="85804" first="Maggie" last="Schweitzer"], 5-7, Academy 18 Frenzy

Maggie, one of two setters on the 18-3 at Academy, is probably the most offensive and shows the most upside because of her athleticism. She has multiple shots in her arsenal, and (oh by the way) locates the ball exceptionally well considering the passing isn’t exactly the greatest at either her high school or on her club team. She’s a queen of making a hittable ball out of an out-of-system pass, and is athletic enough to put balls away when no one else can.
