June 15 was a big day in the recruiting circuit for 2023 prospects.

That marked the first day that they were able to communicate with college coaches, which was a big day around Michigan with such a strong 2023 class.

There’s also been some steam picked up with 2022 prospects in recent weeks on the recruiting trail.

Recent 2022 Commitments

Legacy 2022 outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id="24847" first="Audrey" last="Brown"] recently committed to Fordham University recently. The 6’1” outside from Seaholm is able to play on either side of the net and has top-level athleticism. Fordham hasn’t been a regular landing spot for Michigan recruits, but Brown has a chance to open up the pipeline.

Michigan Elite 2022 middle [player_tooltip player_id="60840" first="Anika" last="Prisby"] recently committed to play for Oakland University. The 6’4” Armada standout has a lot of intangibles to be a college star. Oakland has obviously committed the state strongly with six Michigan natives on their 2020 roster.

Fellow Michigan Elite 2022 prospect, outside [player_tooltip player_id="24862" first="Morgan" last="Lockhart"], has committed to Ferris State University. Lockhart is part of a deep Country Day attack, and the 6’2” outside can do anything on the floor. She will join a Bulldog program that has heavily relied on in-state talent.

Michigan Elite RS [player_tooltip player_id="24861" first="Kimani" last="Johnson"] has been garnering some more interest through the club season. As a 6’3” hitter, she brings a lot of great attributes to a team.

Top defender in 2022, [player_tooltip player_id="24842" first="Josie" last="Bloom"], is starting to draw a lot of interest from Power 5 programs and mid-major schools. Bloom definitely has the athleticism to be an impact player, and has been well-coached throughout her prep and club careers.

For Legacy, the names that have been picking up for recruiting interest as of late are middle [player_tooltip player_id="137572" first="Elizabeth" last="Adams"], DS [player_tooltip player_id="24855" first="Jacoby" last="Flynn"], DS and RS [player_tooltip player_id="24857" first="Bianca" last="Giglio"], and setters [player_tooltip player_id="24875" first="Karlee" last="Stoll"] and [player_tooltip player_id="60856" first="Lauren" last="Lee"].

Outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id="66319" first="Harper" last="Murray"] is likely going to have her pick of the litter at the next level. She continues to receive a lot of attention from the elite programs in the country and is only going to garner more interest as she continues to improve. Murray is among the top prospects in the Class of 2023 nationally.

Nearly all of the 16-1 ADIDAS roster has been able to draw a lot of eyeballs with their ability to contend for a national title. [player_tooltip player_id="66309" first="Nina" last="Horning"] and [player_tooltip player_id="66292" first="Rebecca" last="Apsey"] are great outside prospects, while middles [player_tooltip player_id="66325" first="Abigail" last="Reck"] and [player_tooltip player_id="66291" first="Laurece" last="Abraham"] are impact talents as well. Setter [player_tooltip player_id="66313" first="Erin" last="Kline"] is another top prospect with her 6’1” frame and elite-level athleticism for the position. She’s definitely on the fast track to the next level.

Legacy has a lot of great defensive prospects as well in [player_tooltip player_id="66308" first="Kaitlyn" last="Hoffman"], [player_tooltip player_id="66300" first="Paige" last="Elliott"], [player_tooltip player_id="66295" first="Allison" last="Berent"] and [player_tooltip player_id="66340" first="Sarah" last="Vellucci"]. Vellucci is also able to play outside, but all are outstanding passers with high court IQ’s.

For Michigan Elite, another top setter in the class, [player_tooltip player_id="66328" first="Ava" last="Sarafa"], has been able to open some eyes with strong performances at Summerfest and the JVA World Challenge in front of a lot of college eyes. Outside [player_tooltip player_id="66303" first="Paige" last="Giehtbrock"] and middle [player_tooltip player_id="66302" first="Olivia" last="Gardner"] also made a splash at recent events to draw more interest.
