There are plenty of college prospects on this roster, for obvious reasons. High-flying outside [player_tooltip player_id="85820" first="Courtney" last="Jones"] (Lipscomb commit) can absolutely sky and destroys in-tempo balls at an elite level. Cilicia Aleong (IUPUI commit) could probably start on the right side for the Jaguars right NOW. [player_tooltip player_id="85814" first="Ella" last="Peter"] (Central Michigan commit) runs one of the fastest and most terminal slides in the state. [player_tooltip player_id="85809" first="Grace" last="Reynolds"] (Florida Gulf Coast commit) has buttery smooth hands that can run a 5-1 with the best of them. But those kids already have a home for next fall. Of the nine players on this roster, only two remain available.

’22, [player_tooltip player_id="123003" first="Mackenzie" last="Martin"], 5-10 OH, Martinsville

From time to time, I see collegiate rosters that list a player’s position as ’ATH’. Mackenzie is exactly that. A hybrid of a player, Miss Martin’s ability to attack, defend and do the dirty work to earn a win keeps her recruitable at all positions, except for setter (that spot is already sewn up by high school teammate Miss Reynolds, listed above). I would love to see what Mackenzie can do once her coaches solidify where she might fit.

’23, [player_tooltip player_id="85895" first="Chloe" last="Chicoine"], 5-10 OH, McCutcheon

I’m sure I’ve used up all of the superlatives in talking about Chloe for just over a year. The top-rated class of 2023 player in the Prep Dig rankings, Miss Chicoine is a member of the U.S. Youth National Training Team, a member of every open-level team at Circle since she could play (and always a year up, BTW), and an absolute beast on the court. She’s no-nonsense, get the job done, workhorse-type of player that is six-rotation, through and through. Her attack touch is almost at ten feet, if not there by now. She hits a heavy ball on a full swing, tools with the smartest of shots, and can do anything and everything in the attack, even when the rest of the gym knows where the ball is being set. In her high school season last fall, she led her Mavericks to their first ever semi-state appearance by knocking off 4A #1 Hamilton Southeastern. In that match, she had 36 kills (doubling the next most), hit .352, and added 24 digs. For the season, she had over five kills per set while hitting well past .400. I’m just curious as to what offers might be on the table. Good on her for taking her time.
