We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the high school volleyball season and have been also hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Lindsey Harris [2022] 6-3 Middle (HS: Eaton/Club: Texas Advantage /Verbal: Elon)
Lindsey is currently unranked in the 2022 Class but she has been on our watch list and could break into the rankings next week when we update them. She is a fantastic middle for Eaton High School and also for the nationally recognized Texas Advantage Volleyball. We are very pleased to announce that she recently chose to verbally commit to Elon University. Elon will love the net presence that Miss Harris brings to the table. She has been a stud for V.R. Eaton as she has tallied 151 blocks,, 372 kills, a hitting percentage of .313, and also 65 digs in only two years on varsity. She has the ability to play both middle and on the right side pin. She is a very technically sound and fast middle who excels on the blocking side. Her press on the net is something that cannot be ignored from her opponents. Everything about her play will translate very well to the next level and we think she has tons of potential to get even better. I love how well she reads the offense of her opponent to set up defensively. It always seems as if she is one step ahead of the opposing setter. Please congratulate her on her great accomplishment of playing at the next level. We look forward to covering her senior season this year.
Ava Burroughs [2022] 6-3 Middle (HS: Quitman/Club: East Texas Alliance 1/Verbal: University of Texas at Arlington)
Ava is currently an unranked prospect in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays for Quitman High School and also club for a small club called East Texas Alliance 1 out of Lindale, TX. She is the main focus of her high school program and when she is on, they prosper. We are pleased to announce that she recently committed to UT Arlington to play volleyball. They will utilize her length and power to bolster their front line. She can hit both high and quick tempos from multiple locations. She has a lot of potential and will look to master her craft during her senior year to get ready to compete at the Division 1 level. Please congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing college volleyball at the next level. We will be cheering her on during her senior season.
Riley Weigelt (2022) 5-9 Libero (HS: Vandergrift/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Texas Christian University)
Riley is currently unranked in the state according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but that will likely change next week when I update the rankings. She is a fantastic libero from Vandergrift HS and also from the powerhouse Austin Juniors club. We are proud to announce that she recently verbally committed to Texas Christian University. The one aspect that every coach loves when they watch her play is the posture at which she plays the game. You can tell that this young lady is coachable due to the discipline she shows in holding that posture while moving to her position, during transition, and throughout contact. She is such a stellar passer that she can take up half of the court during serve receive formations and deliver nails to the setter consistently. She is a tough kid who also stars on the diamond as she plays softball competitively as well. The horned frogs will love her from the moment she steps on campus. We will love covering her senior season as she gets ready to play at the next level. Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of playing college volleyball.
