Three Reigning Region Champions On the Rise

<p>Here is a look at the three reigning region champions on the rise.</p>
<p><strong>Elizabethtown:</strong> Reigning Region 5 champion Elizabethown is off to a 4-0 start in the 2021 high school volleyball season. The Panthers have posted wins over North Hardin, John Hardin, Campbellsville and Fort Knox thus far in the 2021 high school volleyball season. Mary Elise Hargan (Sr., OH), [player_tooltip player_id="127195" first="Sarah" last="Clark"] (Jr., S/OPP), Avery Powers (So., DS), Jenna Smallwood (Sr., MB/OPP) and Taylor Ray (Sr., OH) are key players back on the court for Elizabethtown. </p>
<p><strong>Paintsville:</strong> The reigning 15th Region champion, Paintsville won the Seeds for Success Tournament at Fleming County High School on Saturday, Aug. 28. Paintsville picked up wins over Ashland, Bourbon County, George Rogers Clark, Mason County and Perry County Central during the Fleming County-hosted tournament. <p><strong>West Jessamine:</strong> Off to an 8-0 start in the 2021 high school volleyball season, reigning 12th Region champion West Jessamine won the Bluegrass Invitational Volleyball Tournament at Lafayette High School on Saturday, Aug. 28. Sydney Collins (Sr., L), [player_tooltip player_id="126318" first="Keelin" last="Ford"] (Sr., MB), [player_tooltip player_id="106675" first="Brooke" last="Hager"] (Jr., MB), [player_tooltip player_id="126314" first="Emily" last="Krintz"] (Sr., OH), [player_tooltip player_id="126316" first="Olivia" last="McKibben"] (Sr., S) and [player_tooltip player_id="106671" first="Ashleigh" last="Messick"] (Jr., OH) are leaders for West Jessamine. </p>
