<p>We browsed the state to get a glimpse of what teams are off to good starts in 2021. Here are a handful of teams who have been impressive. </p>
<p><strong>Nixa: 9-0</strong></p>
<p>Nixa holds wins over Carl Junction and Logan-Rogersville early in the year. They are hitting at over a .250 clip and averaging more than 13 kills per set. [player_tooltip player_id="102546" first="Jaycee" last="Fixsen"] is leading the way with 124 kills and inching closer to the 1000 career mark. [player_tooltip player_id="119224" first="Emma" last="Conrad"] has been her typical self with 106 digs. [player_tooltip player_id="102444" first="Sydney" last="Golden"] has been strong in her last run and averaging over 10 assists per set. </p>
<p><strong>Eureka: 11-0</strong></p>
<p>The Wildcats have been perfect to begin the season knocking off St. Francis Borgia in the process. [player_tooltip player_id="102446" first="Madison" last="Scheer"] has looked good with 125 kills. [player_tooltip player_id="124215" first="Olivia" last="Hasbrook"] is averaging close to 13 digs per set to anchor the back row. [player_tooltip player_id="102554" first="Juliette" last="Myrick"] and Caroline Keathley have shared the setting duties and have done so effectively. </p>
<p><strong>Willard: 12-0</strong></p>
<p>Paige Durham has been hot out the gate in her final season with 101 kills and 110 digs. [player_tooltip player_id="102455" first="Kindall" last="Smithson"] has added 147 digs of her own. [player_tooltip player_id="119197" first="Paige" last="Gayer"] has 252 assists is helping orchestrate the Tiger offense. </p>
<p><strong>Lafayette: 16-2</strong></p>
<p>Lafayette is making their case as a favorite come November with their strong play out the gate. They have no shortage of talent and many names we talked about during the club season like the Witherspoon sisters, [player_tooltip player_id="101699" first="Jordyn" last="Lochmann"], [player_tooltip player_id="123472" first="Caitlyn" last="Little"], and Addison Risley offensively. [player_tooltip player_id="124219" first="Alyssa" last="Nelson"] has over 300 assists spread out between this dynamic list of scorers. </p>
<p><strong>St. Francis Borgia: 12-1</strong></p>
<p>St. Francis lone defeat came at the hands of Eureka mentioned previously. They are hitting at a .272 percentage and putting down over 13 kills per set. [player_tooltip player_id="41802" first="Ella" last="Brinkmann"] is already pushing 200 kills through 13 matches. Lauren Nieder has 100 digs to pace the defense. Annie Arrand had done a great job of setting up her hitters with 310 assists. </p>
