Tour of Wisconsin – Central Region

As we continue on our tour of the state of Wisconsin, let’s check out the center of the Badger State. With conferences such as the Wisconsin Valley, Great Northern, Marawood, and Cloverbelt that almost always send teams deep into the post season, this is a good place to look for some rising talent.

Alexis Jonas Alexis Jonas 5'7" | S Mosinee | 2023 State WI – 2023 – 5’7 – Setter/Right Side Hitter - Mosinee

Mosinee has been on a tear with an 9-game winning streak and a 17-1 record so far this season. With 329 assists, 89 digs, 38 kills, and 26 aces, Jonas is running the offense for the Indians. She is an athletic lefty with a high ceiling and she will be one to keep an eye on.

Abbi Martin Abbi Martin 6'1" | MB Mosinee | 2022 State WI – 2022 – 6’1 – Middle Blocker - Mosinee
Martin has been an integral piece to Mosinee’s 17-1 start to the season. She’s already recorded 116 kills and 40 blocks while taking charge of the net. Her ability to move laterally and cover a lot of space in a little time makes her fun to watch both offensively and defensively.

Jaelyn Sivertson Jaelyn Sivertson 5'7" | DS/L Iola-Scandanavia | 2023 State WI – 2023 – 5’7 – Libero/Outside Hitter – Iola-Scandanavia
During her short sophomore season, Sivertson led the Thunderbirds with 54 kills while adding 56 digs, 12 aces, and 5 blocks. She is a standout six-rotation outside hitter for her high school team, while in club she is a studly libero. Sivertson’s platform in serve-receive is strong, and she keeps things simple, uncomplicated, and on target.

Ava Krueger Ava Krueger 5'8" | OH Marathon | 2024 State WI – 2024 – 5’9 – Middle Blocker – Marathon
Krueger recorded 103 digs, 71 kills, 36 blocks, and 22 aces in her first short season. She does a great job closing blocks on the pins. Krueger is quick laterally and does a really nice job finding the corners and using a variety of shots to score.

Dorci Walker Dorci Walker OH Columbus Catholic | 2022 State WI – 2022 – 6’0 – Pin Hitter – Columbus Catholic
Walker is a natural talent and a solid six-rotation outside hitter. She has long limbs that help her hit over most blocks, giving her a lot of options in her attack placement. So far in 2021, she has recorded 127 kills, 41 digs, 8 aces, and 5 blocks, and the Dons are 11-4.

Peyton Carlson – 2026 – Outside Hitter – Waupaca

I know she’s still in 8^th grade, and I know it’s early, but she is still worth mentioning because she will be a total phenom! I don’t know her current height, but her skill level makes you think of a Brianna Cantrell Brianna Cantrell OH Appleton North | 2022 State #104 Nation WI and Lily Wagner Lily Wagner 5'11" | OH Germantown | 2023 State #118 Nation WI -type of player. She’s just a rockstar all around player, and she will just continue to grow and light up the court.

2025 Future Players to Watch

Kirsten Hall – 2025 – 5’11 – Middle Blocker - D.C. Everest
It’s hard to predict which 2025s will be making varsity rosters because a lot of times that comes down to coaching philosophy, as well as what kind of upper classmen with which there are to compete. Everest graduated both starting middles in 2021, and Hall would be a fun addition to the Evergreens, along with Lyndsie Truitt Lyndsie Truitt 5'10" | MB DC Everest | 2024 State WI (2024 – 5’9 – Middle Blocker), who has also developed a ton in the past few months.

Lily Shields – 2025 – 5’4 – Setter/Outside Hitter – Newman Catholic
Don’t let her sweet smile fool you; this girl can compete with the best of them. She’s already started out her varsity career with 136 digs, 97 assists, 48 kills, and 31 aces, and they are just approaching the mid-season stretch.

Makenna Rettler – 2025 – 5’3 – Setter/Pin Hitter – Tri-County
Rettler has already tallied 123 assists, 108 digs, 58 kills, and 35 aces. She is a total do-it-all player with a ton of ball control for such a young age. Partner her up with her sister, Karissa Rettler (2023), club teammate Cali Eastling (2025 – 5’6), and Braelyn Pionke (2023) and you have a group who has been waiting forever for these days to play together!

Ryden Lehrke – 2025 – 5’2 – Outside Hitter/Libero – D.C. Everest
Lehrke is a strong six-rotation outside hitter but could also step into the libero position after the graduation of Abby Duffrin Abby Duffrin DS/L DC Everest | 2021 State WI . Her sand training has made her a spectacular defender with great court movement and reaction time. She would not be an unlikely candidate to join her sister, Brenna Lehrke (2022 – 5’5 – Setter/Right Side Hitter), in the varsity ranks. The possibilities are endless for a player like Lehrke.
