The Flint and Saginaw area have a lot of impressive athletes and they are on display on the volleyball court this fall.

Here’s a look at some of the standout talents from the area this year for teams that are trying to compete statewide.

[player_tooltip player_id="60832" first="Amanda" last="Glanton"], Sr. MH, Davison: Glanton is a highly-talented 6’4” middle that is a lot more than just her size. She’s got great form and a good vertical to make her already long reach even longer. Her blocking instincts are great as well. Glanton certainly can compete with the best.

[player_tooltip player_id="66316" first="Remi" last="Madison"], Jr. OH, Grand Blanc: After a breakout 2020 season, Madison is trying to take the next step this fall.
[player_tooltip player_id="24835" first="Kendyl" last="Andrews"], Sr. S, Flushing: Andrews is a talented setter that also has great defensive skills. Flushing is a team that plays against the best but is usually outsized. Andrews does her part to keep the team competitive, running a great offense while mixing up hitters. She plays with a lot of poise and control.

[player_tooltip player_id="153672" first="Audrey" last="Geer"], Soph. OH, Frankenmuth: Geer is really promising. As a sophomore, she is terminating at a very high rate. Geer is really explosive in her swing and plays with great form and technique. She is also smooth in her defensive play. Geer is a name that should be making a lot of noise in the years to come.

Ashlee Leonard, Jr. MH, Garber: Leonard shows a lot of promise. Along with her already strong skills as a middle, Leonard has improved on her defensive and serving skills to give her a lot more weapons. She’s still got a very high ceiling.

[player_tooltip player_id="66297" first="Kalliann" last="Cook"], Jr. L/DS, Birch Run: They don’t get much better than Cook. She’s been a tremendous asset for Birch Run and continues to shine in her junior year. Cook is a technically sound and composed defender that consistently keeps her team in long rallies.

[player_tooltip player_id="66334" first="Neele’ge’" last="Sims"], Jr. OH, Corunna: It’s been great to see Sims back on the court this fall and playing at a high level once again. She’s already setting career-highs in many stats for Corunna. Sims has also displayed a much more consistent passing game. She’s returned to the court with a lot of determination and drive to be even better.

[player_tooltip player_id="172182" first="Maddi" last="Osantowski"], Sr. OH, Reese: Osantowski is another player with a lot of athleticism that uses it to excel around the court. She has a great wind up on her swing and a great connection with her setter.

Olivia Grimpo, Sr. MH, Valley Lutheran: Grimpo provides some really good size in the middle for Valley Lutheran at 6’2”. She’s very imposing for D3 opponents. Grimpo also has a high finish rate and plenty of big-match experience that has shown this year for a younger Valley Lutheran squad.
