<p>While the hitting talent is impressive for Saturday’s Beast of the East, they still need a setter to feed them the ball.</p>
<p>Many of the setters in Saturday’s field excel at their position, and a handful are also fearsome hitters when they choose to be.</p>
<p>Here’s some setters to be sure to look out for on Saturday.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="24844" first="Alyssa" last="Borellis"], Notre Dame Prep: </strong>The Ole Miss commit and Miss Volleyball finalist really does it all. She is leading the Irish in kills with 314, while also racking up 562 assists, 214 digs, 60 blocks and 53 aces. The Irish as a team are hitting .378 thanks to her play. Borellis is the definition of a complete player.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="24845" first="Renee" last="Brines"], Cadillac: </strong>Brines is an impressive one-person show at Cadillac. The Miss Volleyball finalist has racked up 570 assists, 276 kills, 279 digs, 62 aces and 17 blocks this year. She’s just got a natural feel for the game.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="66328" first="Ava" last="Sarafa"], Marian: </strong>Sarafa has really flourished in the last 12 months. This year, the Kentucky commit has the Mustangs hitting .380 as a team. She has 725 assists with 112 digs, 40 aces, 33 blocks and 31 kills.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="108718" first="Erin" last="Madigan"], Dakota: </strong>The 6’1” junior setter has the Cougars hitting nearly .300 as a team this year. She is a threat herself while spreading the ball to her many options on the team. Madigan has 565 assists, 69 kills, 118 digs, 25 aces and 42 blocks in 2021.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="151377" first="Alyssa" last="DeVries"], Grand Rapids Christian: </strong>DeVries has really stepped up her game in the last two years as setter for GRC. This season, she has 641 assists over 55 sets, while adding 149 digs, 36 aces, 27 blocks and 33 kills.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="137571" first="Mackenzie" last="Delacher"], Rockford: </strong>Rockford has a lot of solid hitting options and Delacher has one a great job of getting everyone their swings and succeeding. She’s got 688 assists over 65 sets in 2021, an average of 10.6 per set. Delacher also has 167 digs, 49 kills and 32 aces.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="24835" first="Kendyl" last="Andrews"], Flushing: </strong>The senior setter is committed to Wayne State. She’s been a veteran leader for Flushing for many season and can run an up-tempo offense. Flushing doesn’t have the size of many of the teams this weekend, but Andrews keeps them very competitive.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="156295" first="Campbell" last="Flynn"], Mercy: </strong>One of the most promising freshman in the state, Flynn is a top hitter and setter for the Marlins. She’s got the size and athleticism to be great, but already plays with a lot of courage and confidence that you don’t often see in freshmen.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="108719" first="Eve" last="Martin"], Lakeland: </strong>Like Borellis, Martin is a setter that plays multiple positions and impacts all facets of the game for the Eagles. Martin can swing and defend at an elite level and remains composed while running the offense at setter. She’s a great asset for any team she’s on.</p>
<p><strong>Olivia Doxtater, Mattawan: </strong>Doxtater is one of the assist leaders in the state with 867 this season. She is averaging nearly 10 per set and has 33 aces, 52 kills and 99 digs on the year. Doxtater is also a great senior leader on the floor.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="66296" first="Skylar" last="Bump"], Lakewood: </strong>Bump has been used as a hitter as well this season, showcasing her full athleticism. She’s still a natural setter and has a good feel for the Viking offense from her two years as the primary setter.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="66341" first="Hayley" last="Wegener"], Coopersville: </strong>Wegener has been a great addition to the Coopersville offense. She’s an experienced setter that has a great connection with her primary hitters.</p>
<p><strong>Laney Burns, Saline: </strong>Burns has a lot of sizable hitters to work with at Saline. She’s keeping opponents guessing and setting a good ball for the Hornets in 2021. On the year, Burns has 661 assists, 141 digs, 47 aces, 44 kills and 25 blocks.</p>
<p><strong>Taryn Jackson, Lowell: </strong>Jackson has been a real bright spot for Lowell. The sophomore has an inexperienced group hitting at .226 for the season. Jackson has 727 assists with 125 digs, 27 kills, 27 aces and 11 blocks.</p>
