Streator (Twp.) Regional
The Streator regional started Tuesday, Oct 26, with two matches;
Match 1: Metamora vs. Streator (Twp.), 25-6, 25-10
Match 2: Bartonville (Limestone) vs. Peoria (Richwoods), 25-13, 25-16
Out of the two matches, the third match resulted to the final match between the winners of match 1 and 2. Match 3 took place Thursday, October 28
Match 3: Metamora vs. Bartonville (Limestone), 25-16, 25-9
Washington Regional
Washington regional started Oct 25 running til Oct 28; the first three matches:
Match 1: East Peoria vs. Peoria (H.S.), 25-14, 25-18 (Oct 25)
Match 2: Washington vs. East Peoria, 25-15, 25-14 (Oct 26)
Match 3: Morton vs. Peoria (Notre Dame), 27-25, 25-14 (Oct 26)
Moving on from the three matches, match 4 debuted Morton and Washington.
Match 4: Washington vs. Morton, 19-25, 25-22, 25-20 (Oct 28)
Sterling (HS) Regional
The Sterling regional started on Tuesday Oct 26, with two starting matches;
Match 1: Geneseo vs. Ottawa (Twp.), 25-13, 25-17
Match 2: Sterling (H.S.) vs. LaSalle (L.-Peru), 25-13, 25-23
Moving on from the two matches, match 3 debuted Sterling and Geneso.
Match 3: Sterling (H.S.) vs. Geneseo, 25-22, 25-12
As the state series continues, we are continuing to look out for some of the progress these teams continue to make and the talents that they bring out. Sterling and Geneso are a team that is a watchlist game, as both teams carry some impressive talents and continue to push their way through to the state finals.
