Saint Louis Week 6 Top Setter Performances

<p>With a couple of repeat top-setter performers on the list, I had to toss in a couple off the radar players.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="124219" first="Alyssa" last="Nelson"]</strong> (2024) | Lafayette</p>
<p>The sophomore is running the show for the power program and doing a darn good job. In the two losses last week, Nelson distributed the ball beautifully to her big guns—the outcomes were not what the Lancers wanted, but the performances of the key players were tremendous. With 64 assists in the loss to Borgia and then 66 in the loss to Eureka, [player_tooltip player_id="124219" first="Alyssa" last="Nelson"] was money. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="41798" first="Annie" last="Arand"]</strong> (2022) | Borgia</p>
<p>Arand has reached a couple of milestones in her career this season but running the show for the Knights makes her special. With 57 in the five-set win over Lafayette, Annie was instrumental in the district rival victory over Lafayette. Another team stacked in a district with Eureka and Lafayette. </p>

<p><strong>Caitlyn Wheadon</strong> (2022) | Francis Howell North</p>
<p>The senior was on fire in last week’s five-set win over conference rival Washington. Caitlyn would put up 40 assists in the victory and put nine assists away from 500 for the season. It is a nice milestone to reach for someone only running the show for a year. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="152127" first="Hanna" last="Burch"]</strong> (2023) | St. Pius X Festus</p>
<p>A couple of her Lancers teammates have been mentioned this year but not the player responsibility to feed those two big hitters. Burch is having a solid year with 640 assists. Hanna is worth a look with a season-high 51 in a 3-2 win over Lutheran South. </p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="119203" first="Sam" last="Loida"]</strong> (2022) | Valle Catholic</p>
<p>Some players make things look easy for her teammates, and Loida is just that player. Her quickness and ability to feed her big hitters in mismatch situations are vital parts of her game. With 188 assists in the team 7-1-1 week, the Warriors are prepping for a final four run. Without Sam, Valle isn’t a contender again to return to the final four. </p>
