High School Spotlight: Montini Catholic Broncos

Montini Catholic out of Lombard, Illinois is currently #1 in both the state of Illinois and their overall conference. The Broncos have had a very successful season thus far and have successful ride through the state championship for the 2A class. Montini Catholic has finished their season with an overall of 40-1 and has been undefeated in their conference 6-0. The Broncos have some honorable mentions of their players that have Benn a significant help for the Broncos and their outstanding season this 2021-22 year. Pickering has managed to collect 345 kills this season, bringing her overall kills stats to 372 kills. Pickering is a very strong willed athlete and has a strong swing when it comes to following through with the ball and working closely with her setters on her team. Pickering has a final career with 215 digs and 40 aces and has been a huge asset to the broncos and their journey to the state championships over the last 4 years. Heatherly has been seen in 86 sets and has managed to collect 269 kills this season and has managed to have 201 digs along with 642 assists. Heatherly is a very strong and defensive player and it is impressive to see a player that is primarily in the defensive position, collects stats as an offensive player. The setter has one year left with the Broncos and I look forward to what Heatherly will bring back to the table. Kasallis stands at 6’1 and has the second highest kills on the team this season. She is a very competitive player and quick on the court when it comes to gaining the kill for her team. Kasallis finished off her high school career with being one of the best defenders on her team, finishing with 115 blocks and being a very bold and strong blocker.
