<p>Several young players, some of whom are sophomore outside hitters, have stepped up for teams throughout Region 5 during the 2021 high school volleyball season.</p>
<p>Class of 2024 players hailing from Region 5 are expected to carry momentum over into the upcoming club season. </p>
<p>Here are three 2024 Region 5 outside hitters on the rise. </p>
<p><strong>Julia Brown </strong>is a sophomore outside hitter for Bardstown High School. Brown possesses solid jumping ability and adjusts well to sets coming from any location. A productive hitter from the left side of the net who is energetic, Brown can contribute from both the front row and the back row. </p>
<p><strong>Shelby Edlin</strong> is a sophomore outside hitter for Marion County High School. Edlin is a reliable hitter who elevates at the net consistently. Agile, Edlin has shown athleticism throughout the first half of her prep volleyball career. Edlin can take on the role of a go-to hitter who completes attack hits regularly. </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="158396" first="Chloe" last="Simpson"]</strong> is a sophomore outside hitter/defensive specialist/libero for Green County High School. A versatile player, Simpson can excel offensively and defensively. Simpson, who possesses solid back row skills, has displayed the ability to make athletic plays routinely. In addition to hitting, Simpson can deliver as a productive passer. </p>
