As we look ahead to the event on Saturday morning from Michigan Elite Volleyball Academy, here’s some of the 2023 prospects that have already started to make a name for themselves that will be in attendance.
Remi Madison Remi Madison 5'9" | OH Grand Blanc | 2023 State MI , OH
Madison has been one to watch for years and she is coming off a 2021 prep season where she was Third Team All-State in Division 1 for Grand Blanc. She’s an explosive attacker that can deliver with tremendous power, but also moves very well in the back row to make difficult passes and digs. Madison will be easy to spot even if you don’t have a roster handy.
Kalliann Cook Kalliann Cook 5'5" | DS/L Birch Run | 2023 State MI , L/DS
Cook has been a standard for the position in the state for years. She plays it as well as anyone and was Second Team All-State in Division 2 this fall for Birch Run. Cook is never intimidated and is easily able to brush off a bad pass. She’s definitely an asset that any school would be happy to have on their roster.
Neele’ge’ Sims Neele’ge’ Sims 6'1" | MB Corunna | 2023 State MI , OH
It’s been great to see Sims get back to doing what she’s great at. An athletic outside, Sims led Corunna during the prep season, showcasing a variety of shots throughout the year. Sims has shown that she has the dedication and work ethic to overcome a lot of challenges put in front of her.
Taryn Rice Taryn Rice 5'7" | DS/L Northville | 2023 State MI , DS/L
Rice comes from the Northville program, which has been spoiled with tremendous defenders over the years. Rice definitely adds to that, as she is as steady as it comes. She reads the ball well and has a laser-like focus in the back row. Having a lot of experience against powerful hitters, Rice has developed very sharp instincts for the ball.
Margo Sudzina Margo Sudzina 5'6" | S Notre Dame Prep | 2023 State MI , S
Sudzina was a key part of the Notre Dame Prep rotation, as one of the team’s setters. Sudzina showed a lot of growth with her confidence and technique in the 2021 prep season. While working with some great hitters, Sudzina also raised their game. This next year gives her a chance to show just how talented she is.
Dani Pohl, OH
Pohl is part of a talented Pewamo-Westphalia squad that has a lot of athleticism and grit. Pohl is an outside that isn’t afraid of competition and is going to keep coming at you. Her relentless mindset is contagious as well. This will be a big opportunity for her to get on a bigger stage and prove she can compete at the next level.
Margaret Jones, OH
Jones plays for Royal Oak Shrine and was a standout for the Division 3 contender this fall. Jones took on a much larger role for the Knights in 2021 and shined. She’s got a big wingspan that helps with her attacks and blocking, but she also moves well in the back row and has a competitive serve. This showcase should bring the best out of her and help raise her game.
Angel Brown, OH
Brown is a standout for Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart and comes from a very athletic family. She’s a multi-sport talent that has a lot of things come naturally for her. He athleticism jumps off the page and she’s definitely not one lacking in confidence. She is always up for a challenge.
